Muslims students expecting U.S. public school to bow to their demands?

Prom night conflict pits Muslim students vs. education officials
Can you imagine the names parents and students would be called if Christians did this? Newsflash Muslims, it's a public school, we could care less about your terrorist cult group traditions.
Are Christian traditions respected in Muslim schools? I think not. Are Christians being slaughtered by the thousands in Muslim countries? Unequivocally yes. To the Muslim students complaining, have your religion stop slaughtering Christians by the thousands, maybe then we'll actually care what you think.

Newsflash: it's "couldn't care less", Einstein.

How much less could we care?

They can't eat, drink or listen to music in between sunup and sundown, but they they can commit terrorist acts during Ramadan? And are encouraged to do so?

While I did not read the article I will bet the Muslims win.
We're too PC to stand up against their demands.

The spokesman for the Islamic State said in late May that jihadists should “make it, with God’s permission, a month of pain for infidels everywhere.” Another extremist distributed a manual for using poisons, adding, in poor English: “Dont forget Ramadan is close, the month of victories.”
A month of pain for infidels!

Isn't the prom usually at night?

Yes. It starts at 7PM while it is still daylight, but the dinner is at 9PM after sundown. When told that, they said they are not supposed to listen to music, either. It sounds to me like they are testing to see if they can get their way. If they do, they will demand more concessions.

Where's the issue?

This isn't a Christian school.

I'm seeing the Muslim students' side, but the bigger picture is the following:
rebooking the site,
rebooking the caterer,
rebooking the band or DJ,
rebooking all the rented tuxes or prom dresses,
rebooking limousines,
rebooking security.
Seems to me this all should have been addressed by the Muslim students a looooooong time ago. Parents and kids, of all religions, are constantly being inconvenienced by different school plans made by school administrators. They need to learn to speak up early before too much planning and preparation has gone into an event.

I don't think anything should be changed, but I'm having a hard time finding something to be outraged about here. This is certainly not to the level of stating these students are complicit in the "slaughter" of Christians around the world.

I don't give a shite about the muslim crap, but I will say this, that it's still not government's business to raise children. PERIOD.
This is the parent's responsibility for better or worse. It's not the government's.

Simple solution: If it's against your religion, don't go to the prom.
Problem solved.

Their "fighters" are excused from Ramadan restrictions.

Some kids in a high school petitioned to change the date of the prom because some of their buds couldn't make it that night . . . . And this makes you angry? Why?

I didn't go to my Junior or Senior prom. While I am warped, I am pretty sure it wasn't because I did not attend the proms.
