But, muh entitlements!

President Donald Trump plans to propose $1.7 trillion in cuts to a category of spending that includes major social and entitlement programs for lower-income Americans, as part of an effort to balance the budget within a decade.
quote:
The White House will issue a formal budget request Tuesday that includes $274 billion in cuts over 10 years to means-tested anti-poverty programs, including food stamps, according to a Republican congressional aide and a White House document obtained by Bloomberg News.
quote:
The upcoming budget request for fiscal 2018, which include dropping the top individual tax rate to 35 percent, is already attracting criticism from Democrats. Trump’s proposal will also call for $800 billion in cuts to Medicaid, the health program for the poor, the Washington Post reported.
quote:
Trump is proposing to cut $193 billion from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as food stamps, over the next decade. The cuts, which would amount to an approximate 25 percent reduction, would be achieved in part by limiting eligibility for food stamps and by requiring work, according to the document.
quote:
Spending on the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit would also be reduced by $40 billion, in part by requiring proof that recipients are authorized to work in the U.S. Traditional welfare payments, known as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, would be cut by $21 billion.
quote:
The budget is also expected to propose major domestic discretionary spending cuts; an earlier version of the budget called for $54 billion in such cuts next year alone, although Republicans in Congress have already rejected many of them.
But, muh entitlements!

Should happen but outside of Rand Paul I see no one else voting for it

Had to do a double-take on that one.
God Bless President TRUMP.
Trying to help the new slaves not be new slaves anymore.
In the ultimate irony ... not only will the new slave masters fight him ... but, the new slaves will as well.

Let's get rid of more illegals as well

America will benefit if Trump's agenda is implemented in its entirety.

This is how you have to do it. I'd like to see similar cuts to foreign aid and social security (gradual draw down until its completely eliminated).
Too bad DC will never allow this to happen.
Benefits from these programs have gotten out of hand. I know a single mother of two with a part time job who gets a hair over $800/month in groceries. That is absolutely ridiculous. Reducing that amount to $600 in 10 years is more than fair. Plan accordingly.

The biggest opposition will come from the Republicans, even the so called Freedom Caucus ones

Now there's an idea.

Good.
It will never pass, but this is good Trump.
More of this, less of the other stuff.

Is it $1.7 Trillion in actual CUTS, or is it "we will spend $1.7 trillion less tgan what we projected to spend(i.e. a cut in the growth)?"
If it's an actual $1.7 trillion in CUTS to the current spending, then props to him. If it's the traditional bureaucrat/politician "cut," then color me not impressed.

My stars and garters!
This is scary. The budget deficit will balloon to gargantuan dimensions. What ever became of Bill Clinton's Balanced Budget era of fiscal discipline?

0% chance of passing, but God I wish it would given those proposals.

Is this based on the premise that illegals are filing for taxes?
