2.1 million dollars and 12 months to remove statues while the pumping stations were neglected. How much is it going to cost to get the pumping stations to work? Focusing New Orleans money, effort and manpower on Removing the statues was not only a financial burden but it placed hundreds of thousands of people at risk in the advent of a hurricane.
This clown is literally the definition of a piece of shite.

And then he says today isn't the day to go into all these details because he signed a frickin' piece of paper

Holy shite, what a fricking joke.

How crazy is it?
The sewage and water board president was forced to retire after the flooding took place last week. This is the same guy that said all the pumps were working and that this was a climate change issue.
His reward for retiring: 175,000 a year for the rest of his life. It makes you wonder how did he get the job and wha did he do during the hurricane preparation meetings?

Landrieu is praying that it doesn't rain in the city. Meanwhile, local New Orleans media is blaming everyone but Landrieu.

At the press conference this morning when Landrieu was announcing that the pumps were all down, someone kept laughing really loud and when the camera eventually panned over to the back of the room, it was Robert E Lee's statue.

Monuments aside, the guy is a piece of shite based on his family name alone. All his pandering nonsense only makes it worse. Hopefully the Landrieu name dies out in LA politics once he is ousted.

It keeps getting better:
Landrieu blames S&WB members, blames Climate Change, blames the residents.......
What's wrong with this picture????
But he did take down the statues.....

In interview on WWL, Landrieu said the reason for the flood/bad infrastructure was that voters did not approve recent tax increase proposal. Are people stupid enough to believe this?

If you want a good laugh and you're looking for the reason that Landrieu is cool with trying to let Grant retire and ride into the sunset (or drift off into the flood), read this very informative article from a few years ago.
Grant spends $60,000 on swanky office renovations

Breaking News: Landrieu is the President of the Sewage and Water Board, but he never attended a meeting. He always sent his aides to the meeting in his place for 7 years. The alarming part is that Landrieu said he was not informed, wasn't given the right information and proceeded to make more excuses. If Landrieu did his job and worked on the pumping issue and attended the meetings, he would have the information instead of pursuing national interest and wasting time effort and money taking down statues.

Shocker! He lied directly about that to too city council and the citizens last week. I can't wait for this mother fricker to go down. I wonder how kind prison will be to him

Maybe that's breaking news to outsiders... but anyone in the know has known this for years. And to be fair... Nagin and Morial didn't attend either.
It's disgusting

Karma's a bitch, Mitch.

The saddest part is the people that are hurt the most by this will believ it's not Mitch's fault and will vote for another crooked Democratic mayor again
