Local rec park administrator sends out letter to coaches and parents

I shortened it to show the relevant parts. I was not aware of any disturbance of the ballpark the other day that set this off but

I used to coach rec basketball. Hands down the parents were the absolute worst part of coaching. They all thought that their little Johnny, who couldn't shoot a layup, should be a starter. The constant e-mails were so frustrating I could only laugh at them.

So we'll help them out by making sure their asses never get off the bench.

Wasn't this in the Live Oak area? I saw something on facebook about a letter.
Something had to have set him off to send this out.

yes and the park administrator is top notch. He's fully involved with Travel ball and knows the difference. Glad he put that out there.

I don't think my parents ever talked to my coaches. Everyone on the team knows what parents are douches and it hurts their kid.

Do you have a link of somewhere this is posted? I want to send it to the rest of our booster club board.

Same. My dad was an exceptionally good athlete in his day, and except for one of my coaches in Dixie Youth as an 11 year old who played football at LSU back in the 70's, there's no doubt he knew more about the sports I was playing than any of my coaches, who were mostly just well meaning dads. Never once did he say a word, or listen to any of my bullshite if I felt the need to complain to him about what some coach did or did not do.

I coached my daughter's tee ball and softball teams. Worst parents were the ones complaining that their kid didn't get to play the position they wanted or didn't play in the field every inning or thought their kid should be batting at the top of the lineup.
These were the same parents who couldn't get their kid to the ballpark for any practices, and only show up for games. And even then, they get there as the game is already starting.

i give any kid who wants to play any position the opportunity. They will either do good at it or find out themselves why i put them where i put them. Never had any complaints from parents doing it this way.

The daughter of our high school football coach is on my softball team. He has been as quiet as a church mouse as practice. It's like he gets it.

Park admin is a great guy and that letter is great. A lot of parents think their child is the best on the field thus they pressure the hell out of the kid and coaches for excellence at all times.

Yes sir, it was the Live Oak Rec director that sent this out. Not disagreeing with anything about Rec. it is fun for the kids no doubt. But, c'mon what's the problem with a little competition?

Some people refuse to come to the realization that their kid just sucks at a sport. I sucked at basketball, wanted to quit because I knew I sucked, and my mom told me, "Yeah, that's probably not your sport". She never bitched about me not playing bball because I wasn't good

Well yeah. What else would be the worst part?. The kids??

Basically, a message to the parents who either A. can't afford travel ball, or B. Kid isn't really good enough for travel ball, but think the kid is.
