Concealed carry patron saves lives

“Without warning,” Jones drew a handgun and fatally shot Perez. Cook said there is no evidence that the shooter knew the manager.
A man who police are describing as a “Good Samaritan” happened to be at the bar carrying a concealed weapon when the shooting unfolded. He instructed his wife to take cover before opening fire on Jones.
“After he was struck once, the suspect started shooting at the front door,” Cook said. “We know people were trying to escape, but we’re not sure if he was just trying to harm others.”
Jones died from the gunshot wound sustained from the bar patron. That man is not expected to face charges, as the bar is a “blue sign” business. State law allows licensed holders to conceal carry into such an establishment.
Cook revealed that a second fully loaded handgun and two knives were also found on Jones’ person.
“Had the Good Samaritan not intervened, there could have further loss of life,” Cook said.

This will be all over the news channels across the nation and will spark numerous on-air congratulations to the good samaritan.

"Have a Shot on me!" said the Good Samaritan to the perpetrator

I was talking with a coworker about this yesterday (we live in the DFW area). Is the DA/police going to look the other way about the good Samaritan carrying in a bar that is probably a 51% zone? That technically is a felony to bring a gun inside. I'm not certain, but since it was a sports bar, I think they derive over 51% of their business from the sale of alcohol. Just a thought based on what I learned from the LTC class.

What does "blue sign" establishment mean?

BamaAtl will be along shortly with some sweet arse charts.

Unpossible. I was told by gun deniers that a situation like this would result in a Wild West shootout between the two parties, killing all other innocents within a 2 mile radius.

This did not happen because there is no reason for anyone to have a gun in a bar. Right?

That show voter ID registration is the root cause of all our problems.

The article from the OP says that it was a Blue Sign business.
And after a quick google search this is a blue sign business
"signs are determined by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission based on percentage of alcohol sales. Below 51 percent and businesses get a blue sign – meaning licensed handgun owners can legally carry there."
