Have you ever had bats living in/near your house?

Hypothetically, if I'm seeing a single bat almost every night and he's flying back and forth on the same exact route, would one assume he's living in my GOD DAMN HOUSE?
He's eating mosquitos I guess which is good but he's flying from one corner of my house to the other in the backyard. (same path every time I see him). He hasn't swooped down for my eyeballs or jugular yet but I fear that is certain.

a friend had bats in their chimney. They would come around when migrating. At times a bat would fall and get into their house. I was there for this occasion once. It was nuts.

I remember when I first moved to LA I dated a chick who had a tree in her front yard that had Spanish moss hanging from it... I was messing with it one day and she said, "Be careful; bats live in Spanish moss" and I was like, "Yeah right" -- I pulled on some of the moss and sure enough a bat flew out and scared the shite out of me

When I was a kid, we had a shitload of them up in the woods behind our property. Fished a few dead ones out of the pool. Other than that never had a problem with them.

I left the flue open one night and a small ball got in the house. I noticed him on the brick. He was pretty cool. He flew around the den and I opened the door and it took him about twenty minutes or so to get out the door.

I wouldn't worry. It's probably not even a bat, but just a flying rat or something like that.

There's this guy that lives in a mansion near me that dresses like one all the time. It's pretty weird but he keeps the criminal activity away so it's cool I guess.

No, but I had raccoons living in my attic once. I lived in a townhome and they were getting in several units down but making their way to my attic. I put a Hav-a-hart trap up there and finally caught them both. After fighting with the HOA for months, they finally sealed the hole where they were entering. I cut the tails off those son of a bitches and stapled it to my garage door. They were still there when I sold the place.

i mean, you have trees & shite right? i removed the shutters from the house we bought a few years ago and found several.
they come out at night and dive bomb our pool; guessing the activity draws the bugs and that draws the bats.

I'll have to check the shutters. Any signs of their existence if they're not actually present?

I had bats in my house a few years ago. Walked in with Mrs. STLDawg from dinner and the cats were going crazy. I look up and see that they are chasing a bat around the house. I put some gloves on, knocked it down with a broom, and let it go outside.
This happened again, after which I got someone to seal around the chimney and rest of the roof. That ended the bat problem.
After the first time, we also went and got vaccinated for rabies just in case we had any bat visitors.

Had some living inside the porch columns at our camp. My grandfather heard something was checking it out by trying to look down into one when all hell broke loose. Out of the 5 columns 4 of them had hundreds of bats flooding out and crossing the canal into the woods. Women and kids are screaming and all of the males over about 12 were swinging weapons (tennis rackets, paddles, etc.) wildly through the air for a few minutes. It....was.....awesome.
