What kind of sponsorship $$$ is in wrapping your boat?

Specifically offshore boats. It's pretty tacky imo, so I was wondering what they benefit from it. Huk in particular is popping up on a lot of big CCs. Free gear? Money? Both?

my guess is it's more of a contingency sponsorship
If you win while sporting their logo, they will payout x amount of dollars...but they supply the wrap free of charge

White oakleys for life brah

Lot of those sponsorships just pay parts of entry fees. Offshore entry fees can get mighty expensive. Others just give you a discount on their products. Very few actually pay the angler directly.

Some free stuff and discounts. You have to also know that "pro" staff actually means promotional staff not professional staff. So when you see these young little cuck duck hunters that are pro staff they are actually just getting used for advertisement

Also remember when you get this type of sponsorship you are expected to take company representatives fishing/hunting on an agreed upon number of days.

I would imagine they get enough compensation in some way shape or form that would offset the feeling of having a giant Huk wrap on the side of a brand new 42' Freeman.
Then again, for those guys that are hardcore I doubt it really matters to them what's on the side

Logo sponsorships are more about sowing off a name brand that is willing to sponsor you as it is about the money they offer. At least in some cases.
But I'll admit, it someone would have paid for a wrap for my boat, I'd have taken it. Protects the finish for free.....I'm in.
I don't get Huk popularity. Is it that great of a product. Seems like a "cool logo" company.

I have a couple LS shirts that are nice but yeah it's still a pretty generic fishing apparel company. They sure do wrap a lot of boats though

That 42 freeman is sexy as hell wrapped or not and rides even better than looks. The man behind the wheel works his azz off and catches fish. 49 mph at 4800 rpm doesn't suk either along with the deck layout is HUGE

This is very accurate, and a side of the fishing industry that I think few see or think about. In certain sects of fishing, there is value to anglers in being able to put a particular brand's logo on their boat or their shirt.
Not really referring to the "this fish made possible by xyz brand of bugspray" types . My friends and I talk about it often, but it seems as of late, it's become more important to look cool than to be a good outdoorsman.

This is also true. It's one thing to love to fish. It's another thing to absolutely 100% eat, sleep, and breathe fishing. To the detriment of other aspects of your life. There are a lot of anglers who are that serious about it, and if someone comes along and says we'll pay your entry fees if you wrap your boat with our logo, the answer would be pretty consistent among those anglers.

Some logo branding is attached to manufacturers branding. Maybe freeman and huk have a deal going. I would wrap mine if free and I didn't have to wax the bxitch Heard finish is near perfect once removed years later ?

Wraps do protect hulls well. I've seen them come off boats after years, and the gelcoat still looked brand new. Personally, if I guided, I'd never wrap my boat. A lot of inshore fishermen bird dog the hell out of wrapped boats.

One of my friend's little brother tried to start building boats and was into the "pro staffers" thing. He took a pic off my instagram after a guided goose/duck hunt and used it calling me a pro staffer. I didn't have any logo of his on, he just straight up copyrighted my image for promotional use. I had him take it off his page because I didn't want any part of his shoddy boats.

Nah, it was a start up company out of Lafayette. I do know ML of Fins and Feathers well, though.
