Or because he was a first round pick who was garbage his first few seasons. Averaged 487 yards a season his first 3 years and topped that off with a huge fumble in the playoffs. Took him 6 years to finally have a good season.

Believe it has much less to do with his playing at Alabama than it does that we traded up for a Heisman running back that had a really slow start to his career. Many thought he played lazy the first few years and that pissed them off. Combine it with several injuries and the expectation s for a Heisman winning RB were not met.
No one really hated Roman Harper until his play declined. That had nothing to do with Alabama. People seemed to be rooting for Sunseri and he was a Bama guy.
