Has anybody looked at Tim Tebow's minor league numbers recently?

.156 BA
.224 OBP
.289 SLG
.513 OPS
Tebow might be worse at the plate than he is throwing a football.

Ouch. I thought he was killing it. No wonder we haven't heard much about him since his homer

Still better than his pro QB stats. Dude had a 47% completion percentage.

And here you are talking about him.

He's also like 10 years older than everyone else at his level.

Hadn't played in almost a decade before he decided to give it a try. And people are shocked he's not killing it right out of the box?

Very impressive he's even doing that much after not playing for 12 years after his junior year in high school. You take any good high school player tht hasn't played in that long and throw them in there an they aren't even hitting .100. Probably not even close to it.

Give me a break with people saying this is impressive. It's not like this is the big leagues. This may even be lower quality baseball than you find in the upper tiers of the SEC (usually equivalent to A ball type quality of play).

"In 1994, Jordan played for the Birmingham Barons, a Double-A minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, batting .202 with three home runs, 51 runs batted in, 30 stolen bases, 114 strikeouts, 51 base on balls, and 11 errors."
Your comment makes the GOAT's white sox career that much more impressive

Obviously elite athletes like tebow and MJ are a different story. But yes I laugh at people who say MJ failed at baseball. He did about as well as anyone could reasonably expect.

Hmm...maybe Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball

I'm surprised we don't get live at bats on ESPN

Believe it's just regular A ball
Posted on 4/20/17 at 5:55 pm to Maximus
He is in the Sally which is regular full season A ball.

I always find it amusing that bama fans more than anyone else hates Tebow & takes every chance they get to mock him. And yet they love so many of their players who have not done half the stuff he has with his life. Referencing his trips with his family on their missionary trips to poor countries all over the world. He busts his butt, no drugs, no booze, no domestic abuse, no arrests. And it's the media who makes such a big deal out of him, not himself.

No. He wasn't good and 47% is particularly bad but there's more to being a QB than completion %. His other numbers weren't that bad

And that's numbers in A ball.
A ball!
Why do pro athletes think baseball is easy?
Jordan was 10X the athlete Tebow ever dreamed of being and he couldn't do squat in the game.
Baseball isn't a sport you drop. And then pick up.
You either play it every year of your young life up to adulthood or forget about making it.
Baseball isn't riding a bike, skills erode quickly if they are not constantly massaged.
You can ski, swim, play b-ball...you miss a year or two in baseball growing up...you're fricked. I missed one year between Pony and H.S. and it was like going back to the basics of how to walk.
You can't miss any development in baseball. You can in football, basketball, swimming, soccer...not baseball.
Not baseball.
