I am considering cutting my foot off to ease the pain but it hurts too bad to walk and get a knife.

My boss had it. I did not envy him one bit

I had 4 flare ups during a 6 month period due to hydrochlorothiazide. Its awful.
It always woke me up in the middle of the night. If you take 4 or 5 Aleve at the first hint of pain, you can quell a big flare up.
I had 2 on the left big toe. Those were the worst. Couldnt put on my shoe for a day. I also had 2 on the left thumb.
I switched medicine and never had another. That was 4 years ago.

it is said that your IQ is higher during a gout incident.
write a symphony, eh?
your objective is to reduce the crystals and inflammation.
thyme essential oil TOPICALLY, for the inflammation.
tumeric in food.
put a sliced organic potato in good water in the fridge over night. drink in the AM.
it is a way to alkalize your blood.
read up on alkaline foods. eat some.
try eating less cow and pork for a while.
here's alkaline broth recipe.
onion, carrot, and potato. boil 15 minutes. drink the water.
you can have that every day

I thought my foot was broke. Went to the after hour clinic and that's what they think it is. They couldn't check blood so they weren't 100%. I'm not fat or old so I was a little surprised.

yes
Cannot even lay a sheet over my foot or elbow
Indomethacin is your friend
Allopurinol or uloric my be indicated but use them according to your presciber's directions
Watch your diet--purines are bad joo joo
Doesn't matter how vigilant I am, I still have some attacks

Its worse than a broken bone. Its like someone is breaking the bone over and over again.

Dont ever use this during an attack. This is a drug that you take after an attack is done. And you will have to take it forever if you start.
ETA: If its the only thing that works.

I have ice'd it and took pains meds. Doesn't even slow the pain down.

Cortizone shot will definitely help.

I've had chronic gout for the last 15 years. I finally gave up alcohol 8 months ago and it's gotten better.
I had an attack in both feet at one time and couldn't walk for 10 days.

Apple cider vinegar with "the Mother". That shite fixes everything.

Ice makes it worse. Steroids work if given early. Best relief is steroid injection into the joint by somebody that knows what they are doing.

Oh, and dont take Aspirin.

I thought there was an inexpensive daily pill that kept it under control.
I've known a couple of people who had it, but the pill took care of it for them.

But you dont take it during an attack. It could make it worse. You start it when you are not in a flare up. And you need to keep taking it, or your uric acid could spike, causing a flare up.
