People were overreacting a bit to jrue's slump.
The league is much more guard driven now, and losing tyreke and buddy was a big deal. Before Crawford came in it was Jrue plus bench garbage play at PG-SF. Jrue was the front court and so he was having to guard the best and make up for everyone else sucking. Plus he was always guarded by the best. He had the shite end of the stick in every sense of the expression.
It's really easy to make someone look like shite when they are the only person you have to worry about covering in the front court, and half the personnel on your team changes with no practice time.
Recently Moore, Crawford, hill, etc. have played MUCH better. That makes it much easier for him especially now that he is playing off ball.

Management screwed up by not trading Holiday, Asik, Moore and Hill to the 76ers for expiring contracts and Okafor. This season was lost early. With the above move the Pelicans could have hit free agency with a lot of cap space and a either Cousins or Okafor to love for young talent. Thinking they could make the playoffs caused the cutting of a good support player and the chasing of the unattainable.

I am starting to like this idea of Jrue just sliding to SG full time, and a possible addition of Rubio to run PG.
Maybe pull a trade off with us getting Rubio and trading away Moore and Ajinca and throwing in a 2nd. (not sure if wolves are interested).
The starting 5 is very appealing. Should be stout defensively and when you have boogie and AD you have the offense. Need to find one more shooter to sign in FA to go with this(Tucker, Illyasova,Bogdonavic, Ingles) and move on from monti/dante.
