The dude was the guy that was unlawfully discharging his gun too. They had reason to be blunt with him.
Link ?
Never mind saw it. He wasn't armed at the time. Is it illegal to discharge a weapon?

I honestly don't see the video as that bad. Old guy was not complying at all, and being an idiot from what I saw. He had has hands up initially, but then lowered the one adamantly saying he was disabled and couldn't get down. Which frankly I don't buy at all as an excuse. If the cops are called to a shots fired situation, you have to comply. My grandfather is old and walks with a cane, but I guarantee in that situation is he laying down in a heart beat.
Its very unfortunate the guy hit his head no doubt, and she acted too quickly. But it only takes a split second to shoot someone.

It certainly gives context on why they came in like they did, but it doesn't change my opinion. It seems like when 1 cop was there before you, you should come in and follow his lead, not just come flying on and doing whatever you wanted to do, he obviously is going to have more info than her having been there with the dude for a minute or so. And unless I missed him having a weapon or reaching for one, he wasn't really a direct threat at that exact moment, they could have easily closed in on him and either taken him down with no weapon or shot him if he made a move, since they were ready for that. It's still gross to me, I can't see supporting her actions as having done no wrong.
Agree 100%. But they will support the thug cop

go outside and shoot a gun and get back to me...unless you live in a rural area

What was the point of tasing him? He called 911 right? Did I miss something?

Male police do this shite all the time. It's not about the gender of the officer. It's about the incompetence of the officer, which often presents itself with both sexes.
Remember the male cop who pulled out a gun instead of a taser and killed a dude?

Didn't that happen here in Alabama? I seem to remember this story and was thinking it happened here.
I could be wrong though. My memory has gone to shite lately it seems.

And you will always support the thug due to your pathological hatred of police.

The case that I'm talking about happened in Tulsa.

The more we refuse to hold cops accountable, the more we will see unrestrained nonsense from their profession.
Posted on 3/27/17 at 3:14 pm to LSUTANGERINE
Its seems like if a suspect has a issue the cops can't understand they just kill them to be on the safe side.
Add this elderly man to the long and growing list of those killed by the police for "failure to comply" because,
They didn't speak English
They were mentally ill
They were physically handicapped
They were deaf
They were having a insulin reaction
They were old and confused,
etc.

Guy in the driveway was apparently drunk and admitted it to the 911 operator.
Legal
quote:
He also (according to filings by his family), told the 911 operator that he was calling because his son had a gun and was threatening to get in.
Legal and was fearing for his life.
quote:
When the dispatcher asked if the driveway guy (dad) also had a gun, he told 911 operator that he was armed and fully ready but didn't intend to use it.
Legal.
quote:
Driveway guy later admitted to shooting a round off in his yard to scare his son away.
"Later" as in after he was tazed and hit his head? So, the officers responding did not know that at the time?
Discharging a firearm may not have been legal, but defending yourself is.

So, cops showed up to a situation that knowingly involved multiple people, shots fired, and a drunk guy.
If he didn't tell the dispatcher that he fired his gun and he didn't admit it till "later". Then they knew they were responding to a homeowner trying to defend himself.
They roll up on an old guy standing there and their first assumption was that this is the guy that is a danger?

The reason for supporting a cop is often because they are either responding the way they were trained (an agency can be civilly liable without being criminally liable), or they perceive threats as a reasonable officer would.
If the female cop simply acted as she was trained, she is neither criminally or civilly liable, though the agency can be civilly liable.
There are training issues captured in this video that will be used to improve officer responses:
*Male officer should have seen what appears to be a chair behind the male subject. He could have directed the female to search the chair for weapons and then directed the subject to have a seat. He could have then been cuffed to the chair while they searched him for weapons and continue to assess the environment.
*Male officer should have advised the female that the subject reported to be disabled. Since he looks like Santa Claus, this was plausible information.
In my opinion, mistakes appear to have been made, but the actions of the officer may not be criminal if they acted as they were trained.

I'm all for making sure cops don't abuse their power but you are straight wrong to be knighting for this dude. All the responding officers knew was that he wasn't complying, had admitting to firing a gun inside city limits even though there was no emergency, and was "armed and ready for anything".

Sizer was one of the neighbors who called police. He initially called to complain that he was upset his son had a license to carry a gun. In other call he admitted to shooting his gun. In one of the first calls he tells the operator, "there's no emergency, it's just that I'm fully armed and ready for anything."

Five hours of testimony and seven witnesses later, the Grand Jury ruled in favor of Cameron who used a taser on a man causing him to hit his head and later die. Cameron was called to Sizer’s residence March 6, 2015 responding to his and a neighbor’s 911 calls of gun shots fired.

What types of disabilities prevent someone from getting on the ground?

Cut this cop trashing and race baiting out
I'd applaud you if this is your first post regarding police brutality but it isn't.
At the same time these cops should be charged with murder.
