I think you don't like gays and/or blacks deep down inside
I am not even say that I disagree with the OP, I just know that he is a troll.

I saw all 9 best picture nominated movies. For me La La Land was still the best. Lion and fences were better than Moonlight but moonlight was still good....not the best picture of the year though. Just my opinion.

One movie is about miami drug dealers and the other is about cowboys? How dense are you?

Because I don't watch gay sex for entertainment.

The whole first half of Hacksaw reminded me too much of Walk Hard to take seriously. Loved the war stuff though.
Spot on

No trolling here, I didn't like Hacksaw at all. I was worried I'd have a problem with Garfield and I did. I don't think he's a bad actor, I just have no desire to watch him do or say anything. The love story was pointless of course, and the whole movie ended up feeling like a single scene of a TV show. The true story and man is incredible, but without that factor and Mel Gibson's name this movie would've been quickly passed by.

Not watching Moonlight not for the gay thing, but for the ghetto thing.
If I wanna watch thug culture, I'd go drive down Plank Rd.

why does a movie with gay characters have to be seen as a "gay" movie
It doesn't. There are plenty of movies with gay characters that aren't considered gay movies. This one has a hand job and the theme of the movie is the gay relationships

Haven't seen moonlight but I agree on hacksaw ridge. It was so cheesy it was funny and the acting was so bad it was cringeworthy. But then again this board loves some patriotic war films. USA!

FWIW - I thought it was pretty good.
Some people are afraid of seeing gay things bc it is contagious. So a lot didn't like it or watch

It's not really a "thug" movie nor does it glorify that lifestyle. It just takes place in that type of area. In no way is it like those thug YouTube videos that they have from BR, if that's what you're implying
But anyway, Hacksaw was pretty good but do agree it's a tad overrated on this board. I also really liked Moonlight but wouldn't be my pic for best picture

This was a pretty solid troll that caught a lot of fish.

but the lead character likes that, so it is indeed a gay film ...

Come on man, Hacksaw Ridge was anything but terrible.

I don't get the hate for Moonlight and the undeserved love for Hacksaw Ridge. People on this board like hacksaw ridge more than moonlight because of subliminal racism, homophobia, and bloodlust.
No. I hated Moonlight not because I'm racist, homophobic nor do I enjoy gore for no purpose but for gore.
moonlight did not win best picture because it was the best picture, it won because Hollywood deemed it time for a movie about a black homosexual to win best picture.
War is blood and gore and dirt and grime, its not pretty. But it gives you and idea of the high price some were willing to pay to protect our freedoms.
But watching homosexuals have sex supposedly is the height of enlightenment, knowledge and hipness...WRONG.
It is small minds content to stay small.
So just stay with your snowflake approved movies/shows/concerts and don't ever venture out into the real world; its just not safe...I mean with all the racists, homophobics, and gore lovers out there...better stay in your safe space and never encounter someone with an opposing opinion without resorting to small-minded name calling and simple minded attacks on people you've never met on a message board.
Brilliant you are.

It's a true story about a conscientious objector who is the only congressional Medal of Honor recipient who wasn't even armed with a weapon on the pacific front in ww2; if you don't like them get out of America
