If I had a kid, drinking.
I could legally buy him/her whatever alcoholic beverage s/he wanted, and as long as s/he consumed it in my home, I would be protected under the law.
Even if I lived in a state where marijuana is legal, it is still illegal under Federal law. As a Federal employee that would be too much risk to take (I could lose everything after 30 years in).

What if your kid had a crippling addiction to alcohol later in his life?
