In a perfect world, you would have a loop that eventually meets up with I-12. But that is billions of dollars we will never have.

This isn't that hard. It's simple really. Connect the bypass to I-10 eastbound in WBR. Those wanting to head toward New Orleans exit and use the bypass. Those wanting to reach I-12 and points east, stay on I-10 and use the old bridge.
