Per noaa
TL;DR
80% of the marine pollution comes from normal operating activities, on land. Y'all are worried about some aluminum cans getting sunk
How y'all doing?

Eighty percent of pollution to the marine environment comes from the land. One of the biggest sources is called nonpoint source pollution, which occurs as a result of runoff. Nonpoint source pollution includes many small sources, like septic tanks, cars, trucks, and boats, plus larger sources, such as farms, ranches, and forest areas. Millions of motor vehicle engines drop small amounts of oil each day onto roads and parking lots. Much of this, too, makes its way to the sea.

I grew up watching my dad sink about 5,000 in lake D'arbonne, he'd stick them down in the water and let them fill up then bye bye.

Hell no, you bring out what you bring in. Anything else is trashy(literally) and irresponsible.

fresh water areas this is a different matter altogether and I never allow anything in the water in fresh water or brackish places, but in saltwater, they don't last very long at all, we used to toss them around the camp at empire and they are literally dissolved to a pile of soft white mush (corrosion dust) in just 3 weeks.
saltwater corrosion causes them to biodegrade very very fast, its not like a piece of steel that stays there and lasts for a year or two before rusting away.
I try not to toss any in the water, along with any other trash (trash gets bagged if I have one) I toss them behind the back seat area of my flatboat to be thrown in garbage can or my truck bed when I get back to the launch, but if one takes a bad bounce and ends up going in the water, I don't bother chasing after it if im in saltwater

I've always done it too. If it doesn't sink and make reef structure it will float up and create a job for somebody. Win/win imho.

what, you though that 80% of pollution was from beer cans?
Bottles/cans make up a very small percentage of the pollution but it doesn't make it okay to be a lazy shite.
You hauled it out there, so haul it back.

I'm sorry I can only give you one downvote you worthless piece of shat.

" If you drink em, sink Em" Lake Mary USA
Probably a shite ton of crustaceans down there wearing a ML can as a shell after molting. Nothing wrong with metal or glass. Both will be there long after us and maybe some lucky guy will hang a hook on one and be able to sell it off as an antique

Not before it gets eaten by a sea turtle and slices open his a-hole on the way out, causing him to die a slow and painful death. Please put your cans in a trash bag and call people trashy. Completely ignore these "solid waste" dumps, which aren't set up for liquid waste, and have unplacarded tank trucks in and out all day and night. I'm sure none of their solid waste shite hits the water table
I'm no tree hugger by any means, but I know someone personally dealing with some garbage dump bullshite. It's unbelievable what gets overlooked with a little cash.
I would site a few things but old gal I was following blocked me on the space book because I got apeshit on her comments. She don't like them cus words.

80% of your odor comes from your own secretions, you mind if I wipe a little bit of shite on Ya?
It's dumb, it's lazy and it's trashy. No body should throw there trash in the ocean.
