we still have a season and a half to deal him, and it's almost certain that we will be able to get more for him than what we just gave up. this is a potential franchise-building deal either way that you slice it. don't fall victim to the Boom's or Crewz's of the forum shitting on the parade with their investigation into any potentially minute negative that is out there EVEN if this experiment blows up this year and it's a huge fail, we have all offseason to dangle Boogie to a team like Boston to recoup a major haul of assets to build around AD. that's the "worst case" scenario and it's pretty legit moving forward
If the Celtics wanted him, they could have easily topped our offer. Why would that change next year when he is an expiring deal?

they're the #2 seed in the east

the kings wanted an early 1st rounder. i'm not sure exactly what picks the Cs have, but i imagine that was the biggest issue

Celtics could miss out on Butler and George, then get demolished by Cleveland in the playoffs. Or beaten by Washington or Toronto. Plenty of things could happen that make them reconsider Boogie.
