Favorite band since I started listening in the mid-90s.

Really wish they were coming to Louisiana on their fall tour.
I really don't get this. Tennessee, Texas, Alabama, Georgia. Why not Louisiana?

I'd love to see a Tweedy solo show at the Manship Theatre

They play Birmingham almost every tour and continually skip Louisiana.
Unfortunately last time they played a regular show in New Orleans i missed it because i was out of town.

Since this Tiger Droppings, I feel I should also add that one of the coolest days ever was seeing the Black Crows (w/ Allen Toussaint) followed by Wilco at JazzFest in 2005 on a day of beautiful weather.
I was there! I saw them play the night before at one of the theaters -- was it the Saenger? They were handing out free packs of American Spirits cigarettes in the lobby. Jeff Tweedy got up during the show and said it was the first gig he played without smoking and he had about a dozen nicotine patches on his arse. So people started throwing whole packs of cigarettes on the stage. "frick you guys! I'm trying to do something for my health"

They're solid musicians all around. Not a weak link in the band. I'd never think that I would be the only person in a Wilco thread to say/think A Ghost is Born is their masterpiece though. It's one of the defining guitar albums of my generation in my opinion.

Maybe my favorite band, all things considered, in the last 30 years

Very boring imo. I've tried, just no connection whatsoever

I love a lot of things Tweedy is responsible for, but the stuff getting love in this thread is exactly that. I don't know all the songs, but the ones that come up on my stations made from similar artists are my least favorite.

My thoughts exactly. I don't get it.

Their studio stuff doesn't do much for me, but love them live. Only albums I really listen to by them are AM and Kicking Television.
I highly recommend their concert DVD, Ashes of American Flags. They also have several pro shot full length concerts on YouTube.

They are a great band regardless.
But Nels makes them dirty which makes them really good.
