I'm happy for him and the hard work he put in to earn what he did at the HS level.
Let's just temper our expectations and allow him to do the same in college. These guys already know there is a certain high level expectation already, we don't need to add to that pressure by talking 24/7 about them. The best thing for him will be to redshirt and be patient. Let the kid grow some before setting the expectations of and comparison to some of the greats that have played before him. Shower him with encouragement, support and positive vibes that don't mention national title.

He has a very good list of accomplishments but if you use the Rant standards for predicted future then he will never see the field... at least that is what they say about the QB we have on the roster now with this list of accomplishments:
2015 5A State Champs
5003 total yds, 61 TDs
3040 pass yds, 33 TDs, 136 QBR
1963 Rush yds, 28 TDs
2015 LA Gatorade POY
2015 LA Mr. Football (across all divisions)
2015 MaxPreps All-American
2015 USA Today 1st Team All American - QB
2015 USA Today Offensive MVP
2014 and 2015 LA Offensive MVP (5A)
2014 and 2015 LA leader in offensive yards
Career stats 10231 yds 124 TDs
This is the player that we keep hearing will never see the field... Lindsey Scott
Seriously, I hope Brennan has a great career because that would mean LSU does great!

McMillan also had great stats in HS.

How did the Mississippi schools miss this badly?

Check out his last name, that might help you with that.

To me, and I don't know anything about Scott but what I read, this guy would be a perfect fit for Matt Canada's offense.

That he is more than willing to red shirt speaks to his football IQ, as he knows he has to bulk up for SEC pounding he'll take.

Ole Miss just got Shea Patterson and Mullen just signed Thompson from Louisiana. I'm glad Brennan came here, but those two schools have signed a couple decent ones too.

Ole Miss slow played the shite out of Myles and his teammate. Cam identified Myles as the QB he wanted, and it worked out for LSU. His older brother Bo did walk on at OM, but he's no longer there, and his parents are both Tulane grads. Not to mention, the Brennan name is legendary in Nola.
ETA: And with State, Thompson fits that offense better than Myles, and Mullen didn't have such good luck with the last Stanislaus QB he signed...

Who was the qb that didn't pan out for him?

Dylan Favre.
Can't really blame that on Mullen. He was taken for his name alone. He was never going to be a good QB at this level.

Great job Myles! Scott was also parade all America HM. The only recruit in last years class recognized by parade. We are hopefully finally building depth
