Hard to rebut an argument that is framed in would have.
Would have.
Would have not.
Would have.
Would have not.
Some of us choose the let academics argue what might be, and actually concentrate on what is.
And I'm not even trying to be a smart arse about this. Coming from a huge Trump supporter, who could have easily supported Rand Paul, I'm telling you, people like you on the right partially caused the phenomenon known today as Trump.

I have my beliefs, you have yours, liberals have theirs. I believe that lowering the statutory rate, all else held constant, will likely be a boon for the domestic economy. Part of that is governed by common sense, part of that is corroborated by axiom of fiscal stimulus that every college freshman learns in an econ class. I suspect you probably believe that too.
We are all making normative statements, based on our best guesses. You don't, based on your own life experiences, get the luxury of not being subject to that handicap that all of us experience. We can, at the very least, try to hash it out to get a good idea. That is part of the point of this board. Reducing every single argument within this arena into "well, some of us are academics, and some of us are doers" doesn't really help anything, and is frankly tired, especially since it's often in response to me, and I'm not even an academic.
