If we had just an average coach, I guarantee you we would be on the bubble right now.

Do they really? I don't think they do

I agree with this. Worse, though, is in my opinion, even if we did, we would still be bad.

I don't see all this talent you speak of.

Only one true NBA guy in Blakeney. Talent isn't that great, but certainly shouldn't be getting down by 20 points at some point of every game.

Yes, but only 7 players worth.....

another lost soul who does not know basketball

I don't know about "a lot", but it has enough

Agree we have plenty enough to be a top 3 sec team and in the ncaa tourney.

Blakeney's only shot at the NBA now is transferring to a school like Kansas after the season. He won't get drafted unless he does that.

What fricking game are you watching. We are a terrible basketball team.

You must be on acid, because this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen on the Tiger Rant.

Ok, I'll answer the OPs question. I'm not sure I see a player on LSU's team that will get drafted. Yes Blakeney may get a shot as a free agent. He can no doubt make some money in Europe and a a living in the D-League...DR has the most potential to make a NBA roster as he has only played BB for what....4/5 years tops and is raw. AR maybe an 11th/12th type guy in the NBA
They were good as a group on offense tonight, but the D was again horrendous. Remember the Pigs simply are not an elite team by any stretch.
Sometimes with the total lack of fundamentals, it really is difficult to determine the talent level. Sampson, Epps, and Patterson are not getting much better. Mayes and Sims are young and like the aforementioned three have a decent game now and then. With JO and the M@M boys, it was obvious they were at least top college players and Simmons was clearly going to the NBA as a starter.
Could most all SEC coaches have this team around .500 in the SEC and perhaps flirting with the Big Dance and be a lock for the NIT? I think they could.
Finally, I have a question? Sometimes I'm not around a TV and have to listen on radio thru LSU sports.net. In December, LSU had a color analyst along with Blair. The two games I've had to listen on the radio in January, it was just Blair by himself. Does Alleva and LSU care so little about the sport that they aren't paying for a analyst and the travel expenses for said person on road games and perhaps even at home?

quote:Your basketball iq must be about the same as Johnny's. Very little talent and very little toughness. All but one player would be deep on the bench for most average programs.

I was thinking this too. He royally F'd his future by coming to LSU.

Mind altering substances, being ignorant of what they're looking at and having an obsessive desire to Pump anything and everything LSU is the standard M.O..
Some have their eyes wide open and some are totally blind.......................

Yeah, I don't know where these people thinking he's going to be an NBA player on the path he's headed are coming from. He's not even in the ballpark of being drafted if he comes out this year. I was one of the few people last year saying Quarterman had a shot to make an NBA roster (which he did for a bit before being sent to the DLeague) because he had an NBA skillset. 6 foot 4 2 guards who can't be playmakers are virtually non-existent in the NBA. And the few that are around are elite at every other aspect of the game.

Not really. But look what TCU did.
