what is stopping them? the mls minimum salary is definitely livable and it'd look great on a resume. why arent they in the mls?

not a really a Madrid fan just like modric
In fact I predicted both Real and Juve would lose yesterday, more testament to my soccer knowledge
Wut? They added players this year? last year they still managed to have no injuries.
I agree Kante was yuge to them but what happened to Mahrez and Vardy? I thought they were both going to Barca or real or some other teams because they were sooooo good

Wasn't Luck, the breaks fell their way

This year, the goals that went in are hitting the post, or 2 inches wide

The lack of depth, was going to kill them this season, especially being in Europe

Their losses were big in the transfer season, they lost an anchor man who was critical to their plans and game plan

What they did last season was great, they played with passion, they gave it all out on the pitch

I think it was just not really having the desire. We all say we would but outside of god given talent it really does take a lot. And not just on the field or in the gym. Being away from family, eating right, not having much free time, the stress, traveling, funding all this while you are out of contract, then the fear of failure. I think that once they finished college ball they were satisfied and ready for a break. moved back home. I cant really blame them though.

but what happened to Mahrez and Vardy?
Mahrez and Vardy are being stopped precisely because they don't have a ball-winner in midfield who can start the attack immediately like Kante could. When other teams get into low block situations, Mahrez will be 2 v 1 and forced to pass it back rather than be 1 v 1 and make an opportunity. Vardy is a classic poacher and scores only when the opportunity presents itself.
I'm really wondering if you've ever watched a Leicester game.
Posted on 1/16/17 at 4:41 pm to crazy4lsu
Yes, I watched a lot. I have seen all the times vardy still gets long balls over the top. I have seen all the times that a ball winner get the ball to mahrez who then makes a shite pass.
I agree kante is a big loss but Vardy is still getting chances but missing shots that went in last year. mahrez has been really bad and anyone watching can tell, plus I think all his goals are from pks.

Doubling down on the stupid.

Vardy is a classic poacher again. If he starts making chances will you change your tune? He's an average player, I agree, but again, in the right system he can be good.
Mahrez on the ball is superb but he has to work in counter-attacking systems in order to press the 1 v 1 opportunity. He's a brilliant 1 v 1 dribbler, but like many great dribblers, he shies away from areas where he is 2 v 1.
Kante was the lynchpin of that team. He's a once in a generation type DM, as he has great stamina, can win the ball, and his passing is very good for a ball-winner. Chelsea will probably win the title thanks to the balance he provides.

you can't be lucky for an entire season. you just can't.
no one expected them to do it again.
explain their success in UCL this season.

As a City fan, I watched Mahrez make us look stupid (Granted, that's happening a lot as of late), but he looked pretty damn good to me.

I read this thread taking the wettest deuce in mankind's history. Can't believe I wasted a BM this epic.

Early success in CL....I'll bite
First off they got the easiest group by far and don't even get me started on how rigged the drawings are. Won't even call it luck it was rigged
So they have Porto, koppenhagen and Brugge. Only real threat is Porto( should have been Roma but we got 4 reds in two game playoff with them)
Fist game is against Brugge. And they win 3-0 but it's fricking Brugge.
Second game is against Porto a struggling Porto who drew koppenhagen. Porto dominated them, probably 60-40 possession, double Leicester chances and if it's the game I'm thinking of they kit the post on a couple. But water is wet a silmani scored completely against the run of play. Lucky!
The against koppenhagen they play a pretty even game. But it's fricking koppenhagen. And because of spectacular late save they walk away with a win. Could have been a draw but again like Brugge they should have shite on koppenhagen. Also keep in mind Porto absolutely choked and drew this koppenhagen team
But then in the replay it was all koppenhagen. They dominated Leicester but couldn't get the goal, Leicester sneak away with the draw when it should have been 0
Now back to shitty Brugge right. Easy points. Well not really Leicester score early then go up because of a pk( mahrez takes it to pad his stats) but Brugge get one back and fight till the end but are denied and Leicester walk away because a bs pk
So now that struggling Porto team I was talking about. Who got unlucky against Leicester and choked against koppenhagen well they put 5 past Leicester. 5 goals. About as many as they should have scored the first game. Had luck gone the other way the first game Porto advance and Leicester gets kicked out like the shite team they are
I took advantage of my shite but I've been blocked up since Friday night

Idk if you think you are trying to prove a point by saying that's the style they play. Sit back and hope to counter. resulting in less possession. But that strategy clearly isn't paying off this season. They aren't getting the lucky breaks like they did last season and it's showing.
Also as for the game against city. Y'all got exposed on that long ball stuff. Not to mention stones was terrible and personally responsible for 2 and you could make a case all 4 were his fault. But I also don't know how y'all didn't score sooner, well honestly KDB was a little off that game but still, if y'all had scored earlier you could have tied. Thinking back didn't KDB miss one from inside the 6yard box? That was such a weird game but I digress

I also told yall Mahrez was bad
He wasn't bad last season though... quite the opposite.
It was obvious to anyone that there was some luck involved and that team wouldn't reproduce their form this season... the traditionally top teams were also not very good last season, that played some part IMO...
Of course everyone will remember their championship season and rightfully so... it doesn't take away from any of those other teams...
