Runs out of bounds

A sack on 4th down..... Just throw it
Yeah, the hail mary sack.
C'mon dude, just get the damn ball out of your hands...I don't care if your receivers aren't downfield yet or in position, put some air under it.
But this dancing around back there and then sack. Give somebody a chance to make a play!

Announcers talking about a team needing to stop the clock when it's already stopped on a change of possession.

It's amazing how terrible the average team is at attempting the desperate last minute lateral. Coach Kelly at Pulaski Academy in Little Rock who is the hs coach known for never punting and was also Henry's hs coach, has tinkered with creating an offense completely predicated on laterals. I think it's an idea with some merit.

In other words, rugby.

Not a mistake really but it I hate how every single football player who downs a punt insists on making love to the ball after

I've always hated when a team lines to go for it on 4th down, just to try to get the defense to jump and then using a timeout. Just take the penalty.

Bunting someone other than the pitcher.
let's see... base hits if you have speed, playing for one run tied in the bottom of a 9th/extra inning, trying to make 1st and 2nd 2nd and 3rd...
in real baseball, single runs matter.

Saving the basketball under the opponents hoop

Calling a timeout in the first quarter on 3rd and 22 when the play clock is winding down. Take the penalty, you probably aren't picking it up anyways

Your team is winning. The coach is trying to grind out precious time on the ground and the RB scampers out of bounds, killing the clock & saving the opponents a time out. This really blows in College where teams can skippidy-doo right down the field with 26 seconds left & win.

I think it would work well a good bit.

if that goes wrong, it can go REALLY wrong

But think about the timing and the stakes when Clemson did it. Now other coaches can grow some balls and do it in their 6th conference game when their conf record is 2-3.
Coaches preach toughness and courage and all that nonsense out of their players but always coach games completely scared.

Running a 8 yard curl route on 3rd and 10

quote:This is what I'm saying. Football coaches are the most conservative people on earth. I think there is plenty of room for innovation in the game of football and we don't even see coaches attempting to make a name for themselves by challenging flawed conventional wisdom. They've all accepted that you get three downs to get a first down and then you punt. Punting is a terrible decision more often than not and IMO taking the punting crutch off the table for your team would greatly simplify a coach's "game management" strategy. The idea is simple. Try to score every single time you get the ball and avoid giving the ball to the other team. I think your team would start performing better under pressure because they would constantly be under pressure.
