I drove a 4Runner (2 of them) for the last 16 years. Just purchased a Tundra and absolutely love it. Not great on fuel efficiency but I drive a work vehicle mainly so I'm not terribly worried about that side of it.
I have a 4 and a 7 year old so I got a Crew Max and love the room it has in the back seat.

Specs on the '18's are out. What says the OB?

If you're a Toyota guy, and it appears you are, stick with it.
Toyota and Ford are my top 2 brands, but I'm all Toyota/Lexus now.

I don't doubt it, but the 4wd xlt is what I shopped forever on and that's about what they wanted for it. I shopped from Austin to Mobile.
I really wanted a Toyota, but a similarly outfitted Tundra at the time was about $10k more. Ford was giving $11k off sticker, and Toyota wasn't budging.

I have owned both and Toyota wins.

Yeah, if I'm not buying the Toyota, I buy the V8 Ford. That's what I have. It was about $5K cheaper than a comparably equipped Toyota.
You can get a much better deal on a Ford too. They discount heavily.

Although I own an F -150 and really like my truck, I'll admit the Tundra is a better truck. More dependable and no doubt will last longer. Hell, just look at the guy in Houma who put a million miles on his '07 Tundra. Seriously doubt you could put a million on an F-150, Siverado/Sierra or Ram without having to replace some major drivetrain or suspension.
I'm a huge Toyota/Lexus fan. There's no denying their quality and reliability. I tend to buy mostly Toyota and Lexus at auctions because of this. Saw an '04 Camry yesterday at auction with 414,000 miles and was still running.

I recently traded a Land cruiser for a new Tundra. Could not be happier.
Those things are worth their weight in gold. Hope you got a good trade.

When I bought my Tundra (traded it for a Sequoia) I got $10k off the sticker, without much trying. This was in 2010. It was a 2011 truck, Platinum.
drove it for 2.5yrs and traded it for the Sequoia. Got $5k less for it than I paid for it.

How did you get those options in an xlt?
Started looking recently and want those options, but also want the bucket seats with floor shifter. Only thing I can find those in are lariat trims and are around $46k.

Whoa, I started this thread long ago & I know own a 17' Tundra CM with the same set up that you have posted. 3/1 leveling kit with 33x12.5 nitto ridge grapplers & I'm damn sure not getting 15.2mpg. That must be Hwy miles you are traveling. If you have any tricks, please share them.

They had a '14 with everything I wanted, except it had cloth seats and they put aftermarket leather in it for less than Hub City wanted for the same truck with 18" vs. 20 " wheels, no HID's, no step in the tail gate, and no Off Road package. Plus free oil changes that Hub City didn't offer.
It was a no brainer.
I believe in '14 Ford started offering XLT's with factory leather. The truck at Hub City was an XLT with factory leather.
I don't think you can get a console shift in the XLT.

Don't settle for less get a Chevy.

No factory leather on XLT. Lots of dealers have 3rd party install it. XLT does have center console shift available.

I'm on my 4 f150. I have gotten between 175,000 -225,000 on each. First 3 had 5.4 and current fx-4 has the 5.0. Really like the 5.0 better than 5.4. Never blew motor or tranny on any and never had any issues other than rebuilding front end ball joints. I get 14.5 mpg and pull a 24' bay boat and tractors with ease pulling as well as stopping. Now the mileage pulling goes down to 10 -12 depending how I'm driving. If I ever had a problem I would swap to the yota but so far very happy with the f150.

I'm on my second Tundra. Got my oil changed last Friday, they said my water pump was leaking. I'm out of warranty, they wanted $1k to fix it.
Called Toyota this morning and they talked to the dealership. They are going to cover a new water pump 100%.
I hate that it broke. This is the first issue I have had in either truck, but damn, I was glad to hear they were taking care of it. That's a great way to keep customers.

I have a tundra and love it. I see the gas mileage as it really is. It really isn't terrible. The reserve is huge and the gas gauge only shows about 20 gallons even though you have 5.5 gallons left so you feel like get terrible mileage because you go to the pump a little more often. My average city is around 15.5. I get around 20 going on the hwy. I have the Crew cab with 20's and a step up in size of tire.
I do like the f150's though and don't think you'll do bad either way.
