The trophy used to mean more.

ND went 2-8 the year Hornung won it.

Good point. Paul's posse may have rigged the vote...

Has a Heisman trophy winner ever lost to a team like UK? Not to insult UK but they hadn't been to a bowl game in years and they were the in-state rival.

I didn't know one guy could beat another team himself

Well the QB has the best chance i suppose. Point is Heisman is a shite show IMO. The guy just wasn't very impressive. That and our D is DOMINANT

I'm sure you would have still said that if Lenny ever got close to winning one.

Yeah he was. Until the last few weeks of the year.

If that's the measure, LF should have won in a landslide last year.

Johnny Majors of Tennessee got screwed that year, like Peyton Manning did in 1997.
The national media hated the SEC, and had been hyping Hornung and ND before the season. Even though they went 2-8, the myth they had created was so strong that the voters have a slight edge to Hornung. After Peyton's screwing in 1997 by voters, the 1956 one was probably the second biggest joke in Heisman history.

Not all years are the same.
And to answer the OP, Tim Brown was the last Heisman winner to lose his last 2 games before the Heisman and was also destroyed in his bowl.
