Adams would of killed it here...that's who Lindsey Scott reminds me of the most.

Strong arm, great decision maker, and can escape when needed... I like it

Would you say Lowell Narcisse is like a Dennis Dixon?
Posted on 12/8/16 at 10:44 pm to Fus0623
Yeah, I think Narcisse has a much higher ceiling, even with the injuries, he's just a freak. I think he would be able to excel in a lot of different offenses, whether its Canada, Helfrich, Gilbert or even Kiffin.

I'm just going to point out our game vs LSU was lost on fumbles as much as anything in the trenches.

Love how many people on this board don't make the connection between the Oregon offense and the Ohio State offense that shredded Alabama two years ago.
Yeah, who wants an offense where the tailback hangs 200 rushing yards on Saban!!

Why? He's way too young and inexperienced at a major college level. U gonna trust him to take over the Lsu offense where he will have complete freedom ? If he was just stepping in and calling plays that's One thing.. But what O needs calls for a lot more. Installing a new scheme and personel to fit.. It will be a huge overhaul and I just think handing it to a guy that young and that's only been at Texas for a year is risky.. The OC will have to completely revamp the Lsu offense. Seems like a lot to take on with his resume. O Isnt t equipped to step in and monitor the rebuild. The OC will have full reins. I want more experience for that job

Stop acting like O doesn't know anything about football.

Your an idiot if u think he will do anything with offensive decisions.. He won't so we need an experienced offensive coach. He said it himself that he will have nothing to do with offense or personell decisions regarding offense. So gfy moron

I guess you majored in Revisionist history.

His previous two qbs were 1AA guys because he couldn't recruit and develop one. Alarming.
His previous 2 were FBS guys because nobody worth anything wanted to sit behind Mariota indefinitely.
Bryan Bennett, Jake Rodrigues, Morgan Mahalak, Damion Hobbs and Jeff Lockie were all guys whose time overlapped Mariota. Bennett transferred first to SE Louisiana. Rodrigues and Lockie battled for #2, then Rodrigues transferred to San Diego State. Damion Hobbs left after spring ball. Mahalak was in the dog house for a couple years then transferred to Towson. He was left with Jeff Lockie, who did not perform under pressure.
Then he had Travis Jonsen, who got hurt in spring ball. So they got Vernon Adams from Eastern Washington who carried them part of a season. Then the start of this year it was Jeff Lockie, Travis Jonsen who'd been injured all his freshman year and never played, incoming freshmen Terry Wilson and Justin Herbert. So he got Dakota Prukop. Who might have been good since Alabama wanted him too.
In hindsight, yeah Helfrich had some "misses" at QB (or maybe it was Frost) but he also didn't get enough of them. Mariota's presence ran off the incumbent starter before Mariota ever played, then 2-3 guys who would have been his eventual successors.

Urban Meyer met with Chip Kelly and possibly came to some Oregon practices after he quit coaching. That being said, Ohio State runs more of a QB power option run than what Oregon's been running the past couple years. Ohio State's offense is closer to Auburn than it is to Oregon.
The last year under Kelly Oregon changed the offense to have less of a QB run element because QBs were getting hurt. And under Helfrich it was more of an option pass oriented offense with running mixed in. Basically they ran it consistently enough to set up good play fakes and misdirection to get wide open recievers and tight ends.

I think helfrich, based on what i have read and other's posts, could create a scheme around LSU's talent. I still worry about his play calling ability under a defensive HC. Seems like he and chip complemented each other fairly well on offense. Not sure how his play calling would be with a defensive minded coach in charge.

I can guarantee it works better than les miles system
Posted on 12/9/16 at 7:20 am to ipodking
Exactly. It's a damn shame that we have been conditioned over the years to see the same scheme trotted out on the field no matter the circumstances or opponent . Total bush league BS by Miles and Cam. I witnessed way more creativity at high school games as far as offensive scheme goes. Miles really turned into a fricking joke of a coach as far as X's and O's goes.
