I'd say false. People have seen this movie before. It doesn't look like the recent events that put LSU in its golden era for the last 16 years.

Man these threads are dumb..

Most fans who don't like O hire never stepped foot in a classroom

Most fans who don't like O hire were Les Miles supporters

Most fans who don't like O hire voted for Hillary

Most fans who don't like O hire wanted JJ for QB

False. I think the OP must be a recent fan.

Graduated in the 80's and think this is a poor hire as it has the same feel as the Archer, Hallman and Dinardo hires.

We now stand on the doorstep of our journey into football irrelevance. Nothing against O, but fans that love this hire just don't see it and have no sense of the teams history and past mistakes that were made in seeking to maintain continuity, please the players or simply save a buck.

42. Life long fan, season ticket holder. I think the Orgeron hire was a very poor decision.

This is one of those posts that truly illustrate how poorly some people are of judging reality outside of their bubble.

My dog could make a logical argument against Orgeron. To not realize this is a true lack of intelligence.

Fans that know about football realize he doesn't bring much to the table in the way of scheming either offense or defense. For instance, Vandys HC was their DC this year. Ed has to be propped up with great coordinators.

You don't realize that this was not a good hire.

I would say it's the exact opposite. Most can't remember mike archer, curly hillman, gerry dinardo...they think LSU has always been good so surely with the amazing talent we have we can't be bad...

Been an LSU Football fan for nearly 50 years. This is the worst head coaching hire I have ever seen...in any sport.

I love Orgeron as a DL coach, recruiter, and motivator. LSU could have had all of those benefits by keeping him as a highly paid DL coach/recruiting coordinator.

LSU football has been devalued by our administration by hiring the least qualified candidate that has ever been hired by a top tier school. Amazing.

False.

Being old enough to remember the dumpster fire that was the 90s makes you understand how terrible the lack of vetting and resulting hiring of Orgeron were for the future of LSU.

False.

Started going to games with my dad during the tail end of the Hallman era.

Hate the hire...or should I say promotion? Orgeron's history counts for something.

Me: Alumnus 2009, Lifelong LSU fan. Went ride or die through the era's of Archer, Hallman, DiNardo, etc.

I felt like we should have searched more and had a back plan other than the D-Line coach. There are plenty of mid major, offensive-minded coaches that would jump ship for LSU. I thought we should have gambled on youth and went with PJ Fleck, tbh. He would have come for the same orgeron salary too.

Most people that like the Coach O hire thought Steele deserved another chance when Miles hired him and didn't want to fire Steele when he failed because he "didn't have his guys."
