Wrong baby: WWTOTD

Slow day at work and figured I'd get the collective opinion of the OT.
Rewind 2 years ago, our first daughter is born. Night one they keep her in the nursery and at around 5 am a tech comes strolling in with the baby. Tech goes on and on about our child, and rolls her next to the bed. Wife and I are super tired from delivery and hardly any sleep.
Wife looks over and says that's not our baby. So I pop up and sure enough the sticker on the thing says breast fed boy. We had a girl. The tech proceeds to remove the sticker from the cart as if just the sticker is wrong. Then finally says a bunch of incoherent dribble and leaves. An actual nurse brings us our correct child a few minutes later.
What would the OT have done? Flipped out? Legal action? Just shrugged it off since the correct kid was brought shortly after?

Or so you think.

She's my wife's twin and had her bracelets on to identify her.

I would have tried to keep the boy

That's pretty messed up. I'm not a reactive person, but that would warrant a real complaint/reporting. Not legal action.

I would have flipped out. Fortunately, we delivered our daughter as Mass General in Boston. It is a baby friendly hospital, which means the baby never leaves the room. No way there could be a mix up.

Your two year old daughter is your wife's twin?
Or, is the nurse your wife's twin and she was wearing the baby's bracelets?

Well, just what sort of legal action are you referring to? I'm curious.

Not butt hurt at all. We mentioned it to our doctor and the tech was reprimanded I assume.
Just curious what the OT would have done in this situation since most of the world is litigation happy.

I think the OP meant the baby looks just like her mother. Meaning it is obvious they are mother/daughter.

I don't believe this story is legit. Having just had my third kid and sending them to nursery every night we were in there with ALL of them, I don't see this situation ever being allowed to happen.
What kind of "tech" was bringing babies back from the nursery?
ONLY nurses are able to do that kind of shite.

It is - I almost didn't use it (and it is not my PS).
There were plenty of real life shitty lawyer ads I could have used.

Based on how that Uber thread went, many would have told you to keep the incorrect child for life because it's your fault for having a child in the hospital and not in the back room like a real family.

If it's a tech it's possible he or she shrugged it off

Story is very legit. We just had our second at the same place. The tech responsible is now working the door checking badges to allow people in and out.
After it happened they checked the daughters bracelet, mine, and the wife's each time they brought her back to us. With the second child they did this from the get go.

A tech Shouldn be with your baby like that anyway. Should be either an on call pediatrician, perhaps an on gyn, or nurse
