I'm really surprised that Hillary winning popular vote isn't a bigger thing

I thought that the MSM and Dems would be beating this point to death and calling Trump "illegitimate" from the rooftops.
Do you think the reason they aren't is b/c they kind of screwed themselves with the hysteria over Trump not "promising to accept the results of the election"? Hypocrisy hasn't seemed to bother them in the past so I'm not sure why it would prevent them from being hypocritical here though...

She didn't even win 50% of the entire vote. Neither did any of the candidates

It was the core of Rachel Maddow's existence last night.

I mean, it's really a pretty stupid argument, even for them. We've been under the EC since the foundation of this country. It's not changing.

A lot of Bernie supporters are freaking out calling for the abolishment of the electoral college

It doesn't help that he blew her out in the EC.

They have four years to bring it up. Right now it's shock

Yeah maybe it has started - I'm at a company function so my internet and media consumption has been cut to about 5% of usual levels so maybe I just missed it...
BTW side note me being indisposed all day cost me like $3500 on Ayotte shares
Would have been on top of that if not for my irregular schedule. Really ruined my night to see that I had blown it and her shares are down to .01

It shouldn't be a thing at all.
The popular vote is irrelevant.

Trump played them. By coming across as a sore loser at the debates, Hillary attacked and said it would be wrong to not concede to the victor. She just assumed she would be the victor and wouldn't have to be the one swallowing the pride.

It's like saying your team should be awarded the win in a football game because they had more yards or first downs when the score is the only thing that matters.

The talking heads refer to "125 million voters".
US Population is 300-320 million.
Common reference to 80 million kids in America.
320-80-125 = 95-115 million non voting adults, or almost 1/2 the adult population not participating.

He won states inside the blue wall while expanding into minority vote despite them calling him a racist 24/7 for 6 months straight. It was a pretty epic win.

They blew their chances when early on Trump was questioning how someone can win the majority of votes and lose the electoral vote. They laughed at him and said its the way the game is played and to deal with it. Now they are dealing with it. Irony.

She won 3 yuuuuge cities (LA, NYC, CHI)
Would of been a massacre without those mega cities

It's like you making out with a fine chick but she is your sister

It's a dumb argument. Trump should have spent his last 5 days in Cali and ny if he wanted to win a meaningless popular vote stat.

This argument is so easily dismissed. Just ask them this question:
If the roles were reversed, and Trump won the popular vote but not the electoral vote, would you accept Hillary as president?
Of course you would.
So shut the frick up.

He won 30 states and the popular vote difference is only 16 votes out of every 1000.
I think it would be a much bigger deal if he was only less than one swing state like FL over 270 (298 or less EVs) and if she would be winning the popular vote by at least 1 million votes instead of 200,000.
