There's something about them I just can't get into. To me it's almost like pop metal.

It's available now on Spotify. As a fan of their self-titled album, Nightmare and Hail to the King.....I'm not instantly getting into this album yet.

Honest I think they hit it on the money with this album.
After listening to it a few times, I'd rank it in the top 4 of their albums.
1. City of Evil
2. Waking the Fallen
3. Self Titled Album
4. The Stage
5. Nightmare
6. Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough
7. Hail to the King
8. Sounding the Seventh Trumpet

It's definitely different but I'm a fan of bands progressing and venturing into different realms of music. It's not as catchy as some of their other stuff but still some pretty impressive musicianship is displayed. Whether you're a fan or not, these guys are very talented musicians. There's some pretty cool and different tempos on this record

This. I've always somewhat loathed this band. To each his own though.

You have to listen to this album 4 or 5 times before you can decide if you like it or not. I bought it because I'm a huge fan of theirs but I don't think the casual fan will like this album.

Good. I feel Hail to the King was way too catered to the casual A7X radio fan. There was very little interesting or unique about it. Especially after such an emotionally charged album like Nightmare. City of Evil is my favorite.
Just picked it up today. Will listen on road trip tomorrow.

I am about halfway through listening to this for the first time & it is different than I expected but I like it enough that I will buy it. I am an old school 80's metal guy & this is one band that I defend to all the older music fans. Although they have never put together a complete album in my opinion(City of Evil comes closest but not every song is great) I am just happy there is a band that is trying to keep what is left of rock alive. They also deliver live. You can say what you want about them but they are great musicians.

Holy shite, which the video of The Stage. Wow
I've always loved the deep meaning and underlying messages in their work
Seize The Day (the last minute of this song is absolute awesome) is by far my favorite song by them followed by Dear God
