It doesn't always go to the best player

no, but if it realistically goes to the best player in college football, then it would be a travesty that he leaves college without one
It rarely goes to the best player in cfb. Mark Ingram has a Heisman.
It usually goes to the best player on the best team.
There are exceptions when players have monster years and cant be denied like Manziel,Tebow, and RG3.
Last year McCaffrey broke Barry Sanders all purpose record and they gave the Heisman to the 3rd best rb in the sec

Not really at all, injuries are part of the game and for the record books.
He could come back for his senior year but that would be stupid on his part.
The question is the Heisman worth risk of further injury and taking a chance on his upcoming Lottery ticket to the NFL.
LF7 unless he gains 200 yards a game the rest of the season will miss out on the Heisman and his career will always be remembered and he will be the best all time running back at LSU.
