"Leonard Fournette was a star before he ever set foot on campus. Ranked the No. 1 overall player in the nation out of New Orleans, he was instantly beloved by both LSU and college football fans for being the homegrown superstar sent to revitalize the Tigers."

no, but if it realistically goes to the best player in college football, then it would be a travesty that he leaves college without one

It doesn't always go to the best player

That award is a joke. ESPN has taken THAT over as well......

I agree. He's already an all-timer.

LSU had 2 other players that should have won the Heisman. Any guesses? Old timers will know but probably not anyone born after 1980.

Well shite, i was born in 79 and have no clue.
This is why i leave at halftime.

In 15 years, people will look back after his NFL career at his life, and wonder what the frick happened? Why didn't he get a Heisman? Why was he not even invited to NY in 2015?

Bert Jones? Jerry Stovall? Charles Alexander?

SEC RB number 1
162.75 yards per game, 6.51 yards per carry, 22 TD's on 300 carries
SEC RB number 2
147.93 yards per game, 5.62 yards per carry, 28 TD's on 395 carries
yet somehow number 2 was not only considered the best RB in the SEC, but the best player in the entire country

LF already has the best statistical season ever at a top 10 alltime program.
His 2015 season ranks 2nd in the history of the sec in rushing yards per game.
He led the sec in all purpose yards as a true freshman.
LF is already an alltime great within the sec.

It rarely goes to the best player in cfb. Mark Ingram has a Heisman.
It usually goes to the best player on the best team.
There are exceptions when players have monster years and cant be denied like Manziel,Tebow, and RG3.
Last year McCaffrey broke Barry Sanders all purpose record and they gave the Heisman to the 3rd best rb in the sec

Les Miles happened, AND Frank Wilson got LF on campus not Les.

There's a 1st time for everything!

If he goes for 150+ and a couple TDs in a win against the Gumps, he will be right there come December.

As things stand he's one of the great talents of his generation, but he will not be mentioned among the "all-time greats" in CFB unless he simply accomplishes something impossible (like 250 ypg for the rest of the season and a bunch of game-winning TDs, etc). It's not on him. It wasn't in the cards with the way our offense has been run.
He can redeem the time in the NFL for sure. The kid can have a hall-of-fame career as an RB in a passing era with the talent he possesses.

He had a record setting year last year. In an inept offense.
