Wal Mart and most drug stores seem to be the only places that use them from my experience.

Add Home Depot and Target to that list.
Also, they've lost millions to security breaches in the last few years so that may have spurred them in that direction.

I'm wondering what stores do you guys shop at? It's rare to go to a store that doesn't have the chip reader.
Walmart has had theirs for over a year. Many gas stations have the little machines that are chip readers
