There's concern Teddy Bridgewater might never make it back to the NFL

Teddy Bridgewater continues to rehab in Minnesota and he is making progress. Nearly two months after he dislocated his knee, Bridgewater is making strides and Vikings officials are pleased with where he's at. But other doctors around the league know there are no guarantees Bridgewater will be able to return to the type of quarterback he was, if he makes it back to the NFL at all. As one doctor who's worked with NFL teams said this week, 'If he didn't make it back, it wouldn't surprise me. This is a bad injury, about the worse knee injury a player can have.'

When this happens do the Vikings get an extra pick in the NFL Draft?

Clearly not his doctor as that would be a Major HIPPA violation.

As part of the trade?

We all know what he meant.

They say this about every player after a bad knee injury. Then they come back and get some good ESPN stories about how he was depressed bc he was told he would never play again

jarring headline, but amounts to pretty much speculation on the doctor's part there

Jimmy Graham had a bad knee injury last year too but now looks like he's back into form.

If Robert Edwards came back from completely tearing 3 knee ligaments, partially tearing the 4th, suffering nerve damage, and a torn artery to play in the NFL (briefly) and the CFL, I'd think Bridgewater can come back.

Sounds to me like Doctors who are talking about a football player with a dislocated knee in general, and not about Teddy specifically.

This is embarrassing journalism.

Haven't thought of him in years. A shame we didn't get to see what might have been.

For one, I hope a doctor didn't say that. And two, who cares what "other doctors around the league" - who haven't even seen Bridgewater and don't know the extent of his injury or the quality of his recovery - have to say?
