Brandon Harris under Coach O?

Honest question: Is the inept quarterback play of Brandon Harris due to his own ineptitude, or is it the end result of Les Miles' approach to coaching quarterbacks? Harris has a lot of physical tools at his disposal and should be able to play at a higher level, but I wonder how differently he would perform under the new leadership now coaching the offense.
I am very happy with Danny Etling's QB play, but if he should get injured could we expect better QB play from Harris under the new coaching regime?

I've got to think that the mere fact that we won't be hilariously predictable will make him a better QB. That's not to say he won't still have accuracy or decision-making problems, but not telegraphing our plays can make any QB look better.

Harris' tools or his past performance aren't what will keep him off the field. His attitude will

It has been mentioned here before and find and ask any former player and they'll tell you the same thing. BH doesn't have it between the ears. He has all the tangibles of an awesome QB minus the being able to decipher and make critical game time decisions. Not a knock on him, just might take another season to get use to it.

I would love to think that Brandon's only problem was coaching. However, overthrowing wide open receivers, not going through progressions appear to more on him than the coaches.

I highly believe that if Etling wasn't here, Ensminger would have actually gameplanned for Harris instead of forcing him to run a system

Seems like BH always had that confused look on his face. Not all his fault. The system let him down.

It is now my opinion that under Miles, not only could LSU not develop QBs, they couldn't evaluate them either. I have the utmost confidence in the current staff, and am quite convinced that the best QB on our roster is starting, and that if he were to get hurt, there would be a drop off in production.

I must say that I have been impressed with how Etling can look off the receiver and hit the open receiver. I noticed that on Dural's second touchdown--he looked to the left before throwing to Dural on the center-right side of the field. I don't think that I saw that very often with Harris.

he'd probably look better because it would be tough to look much worse, still don't believe he can read a defense for shite. Etling wasn't exactly killing it when Les and Cameron were ousted and they didn't open the job back up. I think that says a lot.

True, they didn't help him much.

Oh so oppressive...
sorry, couldn't resist.

BH has had tons of trouble handling the pressures of game day. That and Les' play calling & coaching was a disaster for him. We may have to count on him this season. If we do, I'd love to see him turn all that around.

I cant blame him for his attitude with the way Miles and Cameron tried to turn him into a pro style QB. Look at his high school film...

"All" the tangibles???
He's terribly inaccurate on short and medium range balls.
Yes, he's got a cannon, but that's about it.

My take also. Etling surveys the field even when the first or second option isn't there. Hell he will even take off an run for good yardage. He doesn't have the strongest arm but I will take a guy that has the intelligence to run this offense and let the talent do the rest.

I asked the exact same question yesterday and got over 100 down votes. God speed Zelig

LSU tradition.

Harris situation reminds me of Jeremy Johnson from AU... both have physical tools but they just don't have the confidence to be starters. Both were playing in schemes that didn't fit them.
