Part of the reason Miles was let go 4 games in?

They were worried that he could possibly make a run and turn the season into a respectable record, and then be stuck with him another off season?

That's already been listed as the reason it was done.
It's stupid. If you were already that dead set on firing him you should've done it last offseason.

Not at all, and actually the opposite. I think it was: 1. Having a successful season that sustained revenue would only be possible with Les gone and new energy into the program; 2. The administration can get on the same page as to a plan and work out any political kinks that may come up; 3. Bait is in the water and you can now see who is truly interested... I don't think they contact anyone until about November, but their ear is on the ground to see if anyone contacts them. If Fisher/Herman representations contact them, they know they have a chance.

No. Miles had no support left.
Miles also looked detached. If it wasn't the auburn game that got him it was gonna be whatever the next loss was. He was a dead man walking and anything short of going unbeaten or dam near it was gonna be the death of him.
I have no idea why he was brought back. That is gonna cause more problems than anything in this search. You're gonna be told u have security but you may not really. Gonna have to he a coach that either has the biggest ego ever or some smaller school guy.
It's also gonna hurt because if he's not named head coach after the season they're also gonna lose the line coach. Don't kid yourself that he'll step back down to just coaching the line.
Doubt aranda stays around either. Coaches are loyal to the man that hires them. They don't want to work for someone else and honestly the new coach doesn't want previous staff guys that could be a problem or holds some Ill will. Just a chance u don't have to take. Outside of orgeron getting the job, it'll have to be a house cleaning.

Is this a joke?

If someone watched the first four games of this year and was worried about them winning out should have their head examined.

agree

Sure you do. Big media outcry (and casual fan support) because he was a beloved figure in the national media. Unlike a Richt, Miles doesn't suffer from being either boring or completely normal - and the media loved him for that.
The budget crisis affecting school funding was another crucial variable. If not for that they probably could have fired him before the A&M game last year.

That's what you always hope for. None of the top notch coaches seem to be low ego people. You just don't dominate a room of 100 odd hormonal football players if you have a love of slow jazz and reasonable discussion.

They will either keep Org or replace him because one of the more highly desired coaches gets the job. I really respect him. I feel for him if he doesn't perform at a high level and earn the job. But this kind of job can't be retained or given because of affection for the person of Orgeron (or Miles).

Disagree with that. Unless fired he'll do like Jimbo did when Miles came in. Learn a little more and wait for a special opportunity at a major power school.

He was on a one strike policy, they gave him two
The team just looked poorly prepared. It was time.
Miles should've resigned out of guilt

I do. It was time for Miles to go and of he somehow got us to the seccg lsu would be destroyed in the media if we fired him.
If FKing wouldnt have been a dumbass then miles wouldve been fored after last season which wouldve been a far better situation for lsu.

My cousin is big in the TAF. Supposedly they asked him right after the game to fire Cameron and let Les finish the season and also see if it made a difference for the year and Les said no to firing Cam. That's when the decision was made to fire him. They didn't want to but he gave them no choice. They were losing support after those embarrassing loses and they had to do something fast to keep butts in the seats.

2014-15 Finances
In 2014-2015, LSU football generated $138,642,237.
It is a really big business!
How long do you think LSU should have waited to make a change?
Especially considering most of the people giving the school that much money were so upset and threatening not to buy tickets next year.
