quote:totally. It always amazes me to hear people complaining that a lemon is 99cents (organic 1.99) when its shipped from halfway across the country, or a truck or two and everyone has to get paid along the way. My suggestion: grow a tree.
Produce in a grocery store is convenient hence the higher prices.
OP sounds like you found a good place to do your shopping. I like to buy organic when I can, but would definitely take advantage of some of those prices.

Grow a tree
This. I have several clients who have more citrus than they know what to do with. Lemon tree, Lime tree, Orange tree, Grapefuit trees all producing hundreds upon hundreds of fruit. These people cant possibly give it all away.
They give me more than we can consume.
I support this local home grown effort, but it looks to be too far away for me. We have planted a few citrus trees in our back yard, but they are a long way from producing.
