Ken Crawley and De'Vante Harris

I really love both of these kids' futures as a Saint. Yes they are no Delvin Breaux but hey, we don't know what their future ceilings are just yet. Breaux was even a liability during his early playing time. Point being is both of these guys getting skins on the wall can prove far more beneficial long term in their Saint careers than short term liability's on the Defense. Why give reps to a washed out vet with no future. We have a young defense and part of young defense is gaining the experience to get better in the future. I think Crawley and Harris has a lot of tools to be excellent players in this league. Crawley had some damn good coverage on some of the plays he got burned on but Carr made a hell of a throw on that 2 pt conversion. Let's roll with them and hope to god maybe we can focus on pressure and blitzes than blaming the UDFA rookie CB playing damn well for us considering circumstances of his arrival.

Harris looks like he has potential. Crawley doesn't belong in the NFL.

They both got abused....very, very badly. Beaux showed flashes despite his hiccups right away. I've seen Harris make a play or two, but there's no doubt they're the weakest part of this team right now. And considering our Guard discussion this offseason that says something.

I like em. They run well and just need to learn timing and turning to the ball as they progress.
Its not their fault they have been thrown to the dogs as UDFA rookies who on most teams would be on the practice squad or at best the bench.

Yep. You'd think we wouldn't have just left UDFAs in such big spots after seeing how well that worked on the DL last season.

4 of our top 5 corners heading into camp got hurt. I think they had to come out of the draft/FA period feeling very good about what we had at corner. It's not their fault we aren't 10 deep at starting caliber corner.

He does. I think he'll be a great player for us sooner than later.

To be fair, i saw a lot of rookie corners get abused yesterday. Arizona's corner was picked on all last night. His head was on a swivel. He got lit up worse than ours did.

We're setting up for a good second half run when Rankins and Breaux return if we can just manage to be at .500 and not lose anymore to injury. All the PT they are getting will pay off.

People keep saying Harris got abused, I only saw him give up one pass play and it was tight coverage. Maybe another 1-2 I forgot about?

Cause the guy who didn't make the team is always better than the guys who did and had to run around for 7 sec a play trying to cover the oppositions receivers.

As far as the guard discussion on here for the last month that should tell you how retarded many of the posters on here are. Hate to be that guy, again, but I called many out at least 3-4 times about that. As far as our corners. I just don't think Harris played a bad game. Crawley definitely had a tough game but the dude put up a fight. He was at least there to make a tackle and not getting flagged over and over and getting completely burned. That's tough to have a UDFA who was last on the depth chart to come in and play against Cooper,Crabtree, and others, especially with how well Carr was playing.
Bottom line, us keeping 6 RBs and going into a game with 5 of them iirc, and 4 CBs was absurd. Either Moore should have been rushed out there, the dude is a veteran, or Finnegan shouldn't have been cut. Even with Breaux going down, Crawley shouldn't have sniffed the field on D with exception of dime D, and only b/c of Breaux getting hurt. I still like the fact that he was in "close proximity" of the WR for the most part, we've had dudes in the past not even in the tv screen when a receiver catches the ball. On the 2pt play at end of game, that was actually pretty decent coverage, one hell of a pass and catch.

I think they'll both be pretty good. It's hard for any rookie CB to be put in that spot.

So those guys are better than Cortland Finnegan, multiple time pro bowler. I don't understand that logic.. Same logic that puts Spiller on the bench for no reason and pays him huge I guess.

Finnegan is 100 years old. Doubt he would have done better.

Remember, Armstead got schooled his first start. 3 sacks worth of schooling if memory serves me right. I'm not saying they will get that good, but they will get better.
