Les could have been a beloved figure

If he had been fired or resigned last year, he would have rode off into the sunset with a win over aTm and a nice bowl win. Over time we would have looked back on his era fondly, even many of us who don't care for him.
He would have left a legacy as a good man who won 3 division titles, 2 SEC titles, won a national championship and played for another.
Instead his stubbornness and BS press conference statements that give us zero reason to have any confidence moving forward will tarnish all of that and he will go out as the man who destroyed a football dynasty.
I really wish he would do the honorable thing and just resign.

he could have been beloved had he just hired a competent OC and gotten the frick out of the way. Collect your check as the face of of the program and recruit your arse off.

When my grandchirrens ask about Les, the theme will always be "what could've been."

I always heard he wanted to retire here, he loves it here, etc etc
So why is he taking such a gamble with his job and not trying to change things so he can retire here...I don't get it

Obviously, but it is far too late for that.

Unless we beat Bama and/or very salvage a strong season with a solid offense and Qb play, he is now in the despised category, and will this will not change.

Stubborn to the end. He is making this ugly when it didn't have to be at all. He doesn't know what the hell he is doing and clings to his cronies who are just as clueless as he is. Dinardo situation all over again. So be it. We are up for the challenge. And he WILL be fired soon.

Never has a coach had a foundation so laid out in front of him (from what is now apparent the greatest coach in college football history), but has had so little to show for it.
We will look back on that foundation and the players who came through here and say, "what could have been".

He could never be beloved here with Saban going to bama and winning the way he has.

Hyperbole much?

This is such a lazy and misguided statement. He has the best tenure in lsu history to show for it.
Look i believe its time to move on from Miles but there is no need to shite on the last 11 years of lsu football.
If miles has nothing to show for his time at lsu then no lsu coach has done anything worth a damn. Youre a lsu fan. Stop shitting on one of the best decades and tenures in lsu history.

Yeah. It's his last season but some people are embarrassing themselves.

Even if you concede all of those points, Miles was trying to do it in the same division as the greatest coach of all time who is at one of the few schools who take football more seriously than LSU. He was always going to be second-fiddle.

Completely agree with your assessment...."what could've been".....all started simply because he couldn't listen to his players wanting him to give a guys a chance to play in a high profile (2012 NC game).

The really laughable part is that the last 5 years that everyone loves to shite on have a better win loss record than Saban's tenure at lsu.
Id love to know how 1 top 5 finish in 20 years makes lsu a top 5 program yet 1 top 5 finish jn the last 5 years under miles means he is destroying the program
Everyone can agree its time for a change. There is no need to shite on one of the best decades in lsu history

How many times does this bullshite myth need to be disproven? Multiple players have said this never happened.
