Is HWY 74 at Bluff Rd. Still Closed, and if so Why?

Yesterday afternoon I drove from hwy 30 down hwy 74 to the barricade. The water is only on the edge of the road. The middle of the road is dry, with about 14-16' of dry road showing.

Sounds to me like 74 is open then. Thanks for the heads up.

I went all the way thru, po-po told me to turn around. So I did.....and went thru the neighborhood and saved myself an hour.

Sounds like a plan. Consider me an Oak Alley resident as of today.

The water there is a ph of 2.0. Let that serve as to why they don't want you driving through it.
Honeywell lost 2,000 tons of something (can't remember what chemical) in the flood and they're trying to keep it hush-hush.

It's just low ph water, and it's a 4 not a 2. Let's get our facts straight.

I know about that also. It's not at a 2.0 ph but it was low. Also they kept 3115 open for days as people drove thru standing water on the road. As I said above, 74 is dry, the whole road is dry up to the one low spot by Bluff. Even that part has 14-16' of dry road so you don't have to drive thru the lower than normal ph water.
Dilution is the solution to pollution.

Honeywell is coming. Honeywell is coming...

If true, that is retarded. I know that 2 and under is considered hazardous by the EPA, but in perspective a coke has a pH of 2.

They must have had an acid spill.

Yeah would have been nice to know before we all drove thru it a few times. I just said frick it, I'm going to keep driving truck until wheel falls off and call Dudley Debosier, because they are official ambulance chasers of LSu.

Whatever you may have potentially gotten on your vehicle was more than likely washed off with all the rain we've had lately.

Can someone point me in the right direction on who to call to evaluate this ridiculous road closure?
Posted on 8/31/16 at 6:21 am to RealityTiger
Well the paint comes off when it rains, does that count?
