As far as I know one house in the back got really close to getting water, not sure if any got in. The mayor had a crew of guys out there yesterday afternoon with a ton of sandbags trying to help them out. There is a Facebook page for the subdivision giving great updates. I live out of state now but still have a house in there so the information has been nice.

Man that bluff swamp gauge is temperamental as hell.
Still no measurable change on ridge since last night.

Just got back from checking family property on Ridge. There is a TON more water at the entrance/shadow ridge area from my last visit about 36 hours ago.

What the hell is shadow ridge? I've heard people saying that all week and have never heard of it before this week.

First road on the right.

That's the fist dead end street to the right off ridge when you turn off bluff. At least that's what the street sign said but I just checked google maps and it is calling is Knott's Lane?

The people of Shadow Ridge were not a fan of Mr Knott, so they all got together and changed the name to Shadow Ridge.

Roughly a 9 inch drop in three days!!! Not good.
The water is staying around a long, long time.
Hopefully it will drop faster today.

I think once it all starts going back to the Amite, it will drain much faster
It is still trying to equal out just below the end of Fountain at AB

Well I have no idea who you are, but I definitely know you if you know those names.
Man, I saw that and thought the same thing.
I've been in Brazil all week wishing I was there to help you guys. Been watching this thread constantly.
I can tell y'all this- there are people from Australia, Brazil, Florida, Texas, Indiana, Saskatchewan, and Wisconsin all pulling for Dutchtown right now.

Any word on when they will start cutting on road to relieve water levels? What's everyone's consensus on how low Manchac has to get? Neighbor just told me he's hearing another 4-5 days. No way we can avoid rain for that much longer...

Manchac has to get lower than bluff swamp. I don't think that's going to happen for several more days.
Posted on 8/19/16 at 10:44 am to Taxing Tiger
On the radio they said the water level has to drop 1 or 2 feet before they can start cutting the road.

I just went down alligator bayou road and there was still a small flow into bluff swamp/spanish lake so that will need to stop first. Fortunately, it was limited to a small area at the lowest point. Dpw made use move as they were bringing all the large equipment past us.
