250 inches of rain (Hammond, LA)

My old coworker in Hammond called me and said since January 1st of 2014, they surpassed 250 inches this morning and actually ended (at 8:30 tonight) at 253 inches. Does this sound about right for many of you all in SELA? I know here in Mobile, it was mentioned since January 1st of 2015 we have had over 175 inches of rain.

I don't know why he would pick 2014.

Makes sense. More energy being used and cows producing methane creates warmer temperatures. This melts glaciers putting more liquid in clouds. It's not a myth if you understand the science

Not as good as $240 dollars worth of pudding.

I am pretty sure 23 feet of rain is normal over a 2.5 year span.
62.45 inches is Louisiana average rainfall....so that's about 100 inches more in that period.
Not too much in the scheme of things...

Is the earth seeing a net precipitation increase? I doubt it, most likely shifting in weather patters.
Some places are having severe drought.

Seems a little high, that would average around 100" a year. Normal average is around 60" a year in that area.

Keep voting for global warming deniers.

He is a major weather nerd, his wife bought him a damn nice $800 weather station for Xmas 13'. I bought a similar one and it was stolen at my home in midtown...$600 down the drain! Anywho, he decided to run all the weather info beginning Jan 1st of the new year (2014 which makes sense) Even told me in January 2014 they had 24 days where the low temp was 32 or below.

Didn't say it hasn't. However the previous poster insinuated it has.

I'm a weather and geography buff. I can stare at maps and weather data for days.

Who argues about rainfall since 2014?

I thought it's called climate change instead of global warming now.
