you have to give back. Not necessarily in money. Wife and I both have very lucrative, successful careers. But we both volunteer as BBBS/Oasis and work closely with Friends Life (Amy Grant/Vince Gill charity). Watching my little go from a kid who couldn't look me in the eye to graduating basic training in October is more satisfying than any financial transaction/blessing I've ever had. Even got his mom a job at a lending institution I do a good deal of business with and her economic situation is completely different.
It's ok to have a perk or two due to your financial success. We drive Toyota's, we shop outlets. Our only real luxury is we live/belong to a country club, and if we eat out, it's typically there since it's easy and cheap to be honest. Plus it supports the community.
