Tell me about all the fantastic home/home series's we've had since the advent of "kickoff classic" games.
I said not in this case because we play Texas at home the week prior to Rice in NRG. Instead of a neutral site game against the good team and three nobodies at home, we get the good game at home and one of the nobodies on the road (or neutral).

Yeah, but we'll be playing Texas, UCLA, Oklahoma and ASU at home. Plus we've recently played West Virginia and Washington. If you look at it objectively we're in a bit of a dry period in terms of home games against power 5 teams but that's all it is, a dry period. We have many great games coming up.

Hell...if these neutral site/fan fleecing games are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO great for recruiting and $ generation...why don't we play TWO or THREE per year ? Just make them ALL be jacksonville St.,troy,USM et al ?

After the UT game at home we dont have another decent home game until 2023-2024.
There is no OU matchup on the schedule.
And I still wont believe the ASU return trip until it happens.

Should play at the old Rice Stadium like we always used to do. It's a cool old venue and actually once hosted a super bowl. I hate college games in these NFL disneyfied stadiums. Oh well.

Most of the kickoff classics aren't scheduled past 2019. Know when most of the games you noted are? You guessed it, after 2019.

IF, you people really believe the TX,UCLA and the "long lost" Oklahoma games, are actually going to be home/home series....I've got lots of useless crap I can sell you !

You know what. You seem angry. I'll be happy to take those season tickets off your hands.

You really sound like a miserable person.

With cancellation of Arizona St series my guess is LSU will be opening in Atlanta in new stadium in some of those dates.
If LSU wants to set up permanent residence in Texas maybe they should join the Big 12

Have you been paying attention for the past 10 years ? Great home/home series are virtually all being converted to neutral site/money grab games...what on earth makes you think this will not continue ? . I would wager significant dollars that the LSU fanbase will NOT see the likes of TX,UCLA,Ok in Tiger Stadium...I think maybe one of three and we would be VERY lucky !

It's such a fricking sad turn of events. We spend so much money effort to create what is possibly the greatest venue in college football, only to have it host one or two actually decent games a year, against the same SEC teams we always face. It's stupid what college football has become in this regard. Oh well, Jacksonville State and South Alabama should be glorious spectacles.

Pretty sure that LSU gets some cut of the concessions. That's my guess. When your alumni base are spending $30 per margarita at Jerry World or NRG stadium that's big bucks for LSU.

Rice is paying LSU 3.5 million to play the game at Reliant. You would be stupid if you turned that down. All this bitching about these games in Houston but come game time the stadium will fill purple and gold. Sure some people will not attend the game because they "feel" sick of these games but these people will far be in the minority.

Is this going to be the advocare kickoff game?
Posted on 8/2/16 at 8:29 pm to lsufball19
So why play Rice when you could play a power 5 team?
We know why, cupcake city.
