Just read that he ran a 4.43 at LSU this weekend , big difference from his hudl at 4.62
Hudl says "Nike Verified" which likely means laser time at The Opening event. If he went to Nola, that one is notorious for slow times. Kids I personally know ran .15-.2 slower there than at other camps.

That time is from last year. And yes, that event is notorious for slow times.

Jimmy, does he end up in this class?

Too many people on the staff love this kid for him not to be IMO.

I hope the staff doesn't move out a current commit to make room for Amik. I like all the guys LSU has committed right now.

That won't be the route they go

Like a lot of people on here, I'm a big fan of Robertson as well. Kid can just flat out play. And is a playmaker.
It's a matter of when we offer, not if, IMO.

He could be pretty damn good with more coaching. I like how he brings a lot of energy to his team after making plays.

Telling you this kid can flat out just play. Has a nose for the football. I am going to just leave it at that. No need to compare to another former LSU player that had a nose for the football and was undersized and no one knew his name when he committed to us

Agree he looks much longer than TM and idk if he's that type of playmaker but he's good enough for an offer for sure. Could play corner or safety but most likely FS imo

Well said, I like it. He wears 4 sweatbands in his highlight vids, looks a little familiar to me. I don't know what color socks he wears though

I was thinking of Amik today and how I'd love for him to be a part of this class.

A couple of things:
First, he may get an offer down the road. We can sign 27 and have 20 commitments. And we still want Wilson, Buggs, Moses, Allen, Chaisson and Harris on defense and Akers and perhaps another OL or TE on offense. Numbers are just really tight.
Second, the kid might be legit, but no one should be compared to Honey Badger. He's a once in a generation player. DBs just don't do what Badger routinely did, week in and week out, to change the game the way he did.

Short AND slow? That's the kiss of death for a defensive back. I don't care how tough he is that won't work in major college football.

The kid is not slow. Ran a 4.42 at LSU's camp. Height is misleading. From the shoulders down he is closer to 5-11. He has no neck, but very long arms and big hands.
Posted on 8/27/16 at 3:25 pm to InTheDetails
Trust me he doesn't run a 4.62 forty lol. He might be 5'9 but the kid is still growing. But even if he doesn't and I'm not going to compare there is a DB playing with the Cardinals that is only 5'9.
