I had a few Facebook friends go to Alton Sterling's funeral today and each of them posted that he was a martyr. I've heard of other people referring to him as a martyr as well. How exactly is he a martyr? I'm just curious if anyone on the OT can explain.

Well... If you go off of his rap sheet, it seems like he believed he didnt need to obey any of the laws.
He is a martyr for habitual criminals if there is such a thing.

Martyr? Seriously? He was an armed criminal resisting arrest and not for the 1st time. This is a farce!

I don't think your facebook friends know what a martyr is.
Posted on 7/15/16 at 6:52 pm to trom83
Because he can no longer molest children?
Posted on 7/15/16 at 6:54 pm to trom83
If he's considered a modern day martyr, society is more screwed up than I thought.

Not a martyr worth celebrating
