The head of SEC refs is a Bama graduate.

How can anybody possibly know what kind of impact Valentine will have? This reminds me of all the Frank Herron hype 2 years ago. Let's wait and see if he even arrives in shape, much less pin the season on his play.

Frank Herron, at the end of last season was playing like a man possessed and one of the better d-linemen in the SEC. This year he is playing for a check and I predict he will have a special season.

Two or three times I had to check the players number again to who he was...
It was Herron playing unlike anything I had ever seen.
Hope it continues.

Valentine is a baller. Hell yeah we know he will help us out. Obviously the coaches know this as well. Hes a stud and we need him here asap.

He certainly could play a big part, but we have a lot of avenues to a special season. I'm counting on the return of that nasty, gutter top 5 LSU defense along with decent QB play and an elite backfield running. Would be something special. I haven't been optimistic lately with our staff (whom I respect) but I'll change my tune and lay my feelings on the line for 2016--just one last time.

. I hope we hold onto Aranda for at least 4 to 5 years Miles wins one or two more and hangs it up then Aranda takes over.

Does LSU hire first-time head coaches now?

Is Valentine on the roster now?

I know he was trying to make amends and get back on but is he actually on the team or is all this conjecture?

Really asking. I have no idea.

Here is the reality:

1. When was the last time the NCAA Clearinghouse worked in LSU's favor in one of these cases? With a complicated past I wouldn't hold my breath on him getting cleared instantly.

2. I know he is losing weight but is he in the same shape that the players currently on roster are?

3. There are some pretty good players on roster now that have played a spring in the new scheme.

I think he's going to be great. We just might have to wait till mid season to see him consistently be on the field.

He's a 330 lb nose tackle. It is an easy position dependent on size and strength, which he has.

if that was all there was to it they could just move Boutte over from the OL.

Valentine will add depth to the DL but he is probably not a key for a special season. Remains to be seen what he brings to the table (not talking about the dining room table but rather the playing field).

HOw much eligibility does valentine have left?

It's always good to have more depth and we just have to wait and see what he brings to the DL. Might take him some time to get up to SEC level speed and conditioning.

Maybe we should wait to see if Valentine is a difference maker (if he can even play) and if Aranda is the closest DC you can get to actually having God as your DC, before we crown them the greatest ever.
