re: Shut up with trade Tyreke talk

See slow, I can get behind this type of logic. Perhaps the best foot forward for this team is to move tyreke but the move him at all cost guys are lost. If you get no value for him what good does it do for the team? The guy has value right now and until you can draw up equal value on the other side the discussion is pure hate. There's no logic to moving tyreke unless it benefits the product and right now I can't see that happening. Especially since signing someone comparable in this market will take an even worse deal. Give him a shot at a healthy season to be a go to sixth man/third option and if it tanks the shop him. He's not nearly as much of the problem as some of you hope.

I think everybody can agree Tyreke is a good player some might have different opinions on his game but the main thing to me is according to MM the FO and Gentry don't think he fits in the offense so they have to move on for that reason

Guys like Livingston and Grant Hill played in that system why can't he?
Posted on 7/2/16 at 7:12 pm to BSB1988
MM is a blogger who's info is probably right half the time. If he was being shopped like said to every team it would have leaked by now.

Ok you might be right but if that is case don't you think it would make sense to move him if our coach doesn't want hom
Posted on 7/2/16 at 7:13 pm to BSB1988
No, they think he is dumb and unwilling. If he were smart and willing, he could fit the offense. But he is a low IQ guy who has played one way his whole life and isn't changing. He will never make quick decisions and he will never commit to the focus on defense they demand.

well hill was an unselfish, high-IQ team player
livingston is a backup. if tyreke accepts that role i'm fine with him there
the question is if he will, which i doubt

quote:Tyreke is a very good individual player. He is not a great team player. The biggest thing is that he does not fit this system. If you go to the games and watch Gentry blow a gasket screaming every time Tyreke just pounds the ball and runs out the shot clock. Gentry just has not been able to get through to him. Maybe it will change and the lightbulb will go off.
The truth regarding Tyreke is that he's not nearly as bad as people make him out to be and not as good as his defenders think.

biggest issue is potential attitude issues. if he buys i'm, i'm down for it

and THAT is the issue

Amen. We're on the same page. I'm not ignoring tyreke's shortcomings. Just not so fast to dismiss his potential either. If he's a locker room problem or anything of the sort I agree it's time to shop him for peanuts. It's hard to believe a guy could be that much of an issue when you look back at his quotes on playing through injuries and doubts. I like to think he can fit here, I know he's a solid player, but if that isn't the case I think we should showcase his positives and get a fair deal if he's moved. We all want the same thing.

He did not have a training camp or preseason and no one can deny he was improving in the offense towards the end. We have too big of a hole on talent to let guys walk.

I defend Jones because I believe, the hate is non basketball related.

Tyreke for Gibson I am for. Tyreke for a po po platter of end of bench players and fake second rounders to go out and pay another bench guy 40+ mill I pass. I rather have reke and let him improve our team reputation as a winning one to make the playoffs and have a good series then let him walk and use the cap.

He thinks people hate Johnny Jones because he's black, not because he's a terrible basketball coach
Posted on 7/2/16 at 7:41 pm to SlowFlowPro
Lets save this for another board.

Yea because that will not end well for you
Posted on 7/2/16 at 7:49 pm to BSB1988
Nothing on this website can end bad for me. Just dont care to respond to Johnny Jones talks every week.

That's why this whole thread is stupid 504. It's not ludicrous to trade the guy if we get a good wing player like Gibson out of it.
