That might be the place I was thinking of. Thought it was Seacrest, but pretty sure it's Village of South Walton. I know there is a small market and Mexican restaurant in the place...and some small booths on an open lawn.
It's confusing because Seacrest is sort of in two places on 30A because of how things developed. If I'm not mistaken there are a lot of smaller places for rent (1BRs and Studios) in that general vicinity.
Honestly, I'd stay anywhere from Inlet Beach to Grayton and generally have done so. For nostalgic reasons I still like Seagrove, although from there down to Rosemary is all part of the same thing for me. Seacrest and Seagrove likely have the most beachfront options. The only place I haven't stayed is in Seaside proper, but I'm abnormal in that I hate Seaside.
I'd expect the high rises in Seagrove, given their age, are probably a little cheaper than most other beachfront options. They may also be better about minimums.
