Well I am 1-0 when I start DAT. I will be busy all morning so I figured I would go ahead and start it. Let's start another streak boys.

Astros have won 23 of 32 and cut their deficit in AL Wild Card race from 8.5 games to 1 -Richard justice

Went to sleep around 11, nice waking up to a W. Shoemaker must hate his bullpen

Good win, didn't get to watch any.
Reed will be ok, just his 3rd game.
Also, Correa has gotten his K% down to 23%, so progress there.
Giles was good.

Giles was good.
He got lucky with two flat fastballs that were hit hard. One was with a guy with only warning track power... The other went foul.
Other than that he looked like a solid 7th inning guy. It's nice having shutdown 7,8, and almost shutdown 9 guys in there.
Harris allowed bases loaded with no outs in the ninth... Then he unloaded some filthy sliders and cutters.

I get why they picked feldman to start but it would have been cool giving feliz or Devo a chance to start.

It would be nice if the Rangers would start losing.

Forget the rangers. We can't beat them anyway head to head. Forget they exist and focus on winning our own games. Maybe next year with a better manager we can beat them.

Hinch isn't going anywhere though
Posted on 6/28/16 at 9:15 am to dhav14
OK then...maybe in 2 or 3 years with a new manager we can beat them.

His BABIP was like .450 coming into the game, he was due for some good luck.

Don't assume high Babip means he is unlucky. He makes mistakes in the heart if the plate too often and when he does hard contact results. Hard contact will always drive up Babip.

I'm not assuming, his hard hit % compared to his good years is less than 2% higher.
Essentially the only difference between last year and this year is he is getting less groundballs and giving up more flyballs. And HR's don't count for BABIP, so anything less than a HR is getting in play more often.
ETA: I doubt anyone here has seen him pitch before this year, so all we really have to go off of is historical data.

He's been very iffy out there. Doesn't seem to get ad many swings and misses as I was expecting from his hype after the trade.

I can agree with this, but he's been good more than he's been bad.

He's getting more swings and misses this year than he ever has and his contact against % has gone down as well.
It's really strange that he isn't dominating.
ETA: One noticeable change is he's throwing quite a few more sliders this year than years past, and it likely hasn't been as sharp. So the fastball doesn't play as well.

Since May 1st, Valbuena is hitting .294/.390/.523 with a 146 wRC+
That's pretty, pretty good.
ETA: Also, he now has the 2nd highest avg. on the team

The problem is we have 3 guys in Val rasmus and gattis who are all streaky. Val while hot right now will be cold in the next month.
Posted on 6/28/16 at 10:36 am to iamAG
If Bregs stays hot in AAA I think we need to swap him for Worth quickly. Let Val DH and play some 1B and Margo return to the super utility role
Posted on 6/28/16 at 10:37 am to Pnels08
Well he's been hot for 2 months now. Maybe he's just better than last year? who knows.
